LOL. Sure. At least own up the fact you believed that garbage. You got called out for buying that partisan hack job. DeSantis handled the AP story the way he should've. I didn't change the subject to DeSantis. The whole thing was about DeSantis and that guy trying to expand on the AP hatchet job. Now back to our regularly scheduled partisan takes...

Id say the hope is that the public would see a large group of actual practicing physicians pleading to them to get the vaccine for health and public concern as agents of medicine and not politics?

Regardless of the efficacy of preventing the spread of covid the vaccine has shown to reduce hospitalizations and deaths. A medic on a call yesterday told me had a patient with chest pain get 3 separate 12 leads in a hallway and was still waiting for a room because rooms were largely filled with unvaccinated patients. There are ripple effects from not getting vaccinated. These statistics may change over time but for now the unvaccinated are stressing the systems.

Just read the post next time and save yourself some trouble. Pay special attention to the part where I said, 'Outside of the part about DeSantis enriching his donor, what in it do you disagree with?'.

Then if you need further help understanding it, go to post #25664 where I said"

"I understand that, but I was asking about the part about antivaxxers who are so accepting of the mRNA treatments. Same as folks who will take livestock medication but won't get vaccinated."

    Hope that helps.

I agree with all of that. Nothing in what I posted was a challenge to getting vaccinated.

Almost the whole video was a hatchet job on DeSantis. The guy spends 30 seconds of 4:30 video about antivaxxers and mRNA treatments. Those people who won't take the vaccine but will take Regeneron are idiots. BUT, if someone doesn't take the vaccine, it doesn't mean to not treat those people with life saving drugs.

Exactly, which is what makes the specific anti-covid-vaccination movement such a fascinating thing. Politically driven rather than being based in any kind of deep-rooted belief system about science and vaccines. It will be interesting to watch over the next several years to see if that anti-vaccine movement seeps into the general Republican mindset or if it will remain specific to the covid vaccine.

No, if you click on the video in the post you get about a minute of video and 55 seconds of it are about mRNA and monoclonal antibodies. That's what I was asking about. Keep reading my posts and maybe you'll get it.

It is pretty clear in Israel the vaccine is waning. There is a reason they started to booster up with over half in the hospital on Friday being fully vaccinated. It is pretty clear here as well since we are already onto another booster for everyone beginning September 20.

Some should absolutely consider taking these drugs. But others are just as right to consider not taking them.

We need to stop the shaming and work together. I hope that you will see that.

Waning immunity was also a distinct possibility. If it wasn't, then why have spots for 4 shots on a vaccine card that only initially requires no more than 2?

Israel data also shows that the vaccinated in the hospitals are mainly 60 years old or older, with comorbidities. The unvaccinated in the hospitals range all ages. Israel data also shows those 60 and older with a third booster fare better than those with no booster.

Using the Israeli data it's obvious all should get vaccinated. And those 60 and older should get a third booster between the 6 and 8 month mark.

You may think all should take a drug like this that has been rushed to market. And is already requiring a third shot before the end of a year to just help. Now I would agree some should be taking that strategy. But it makes plenty of sense for a young healthy person to consider that is not the best approach.

Half of the people in the Israeli hospitals are vaccinated, and the majority of them are 60 and older. The other half in the hospitals are unvaccinated, and range all ages, from childhood on up. Answer this. How many of the unvaccinated would have ended up in the hospital had they received the vaccine? How many 59 and younger?

And again, vaccines aren't just about your own health. Even though not perfect, the vaccine still prevents many from getting sick in the first place, and lowers the RO rate. Lower the RO rate to below 1, and eventually, COVID will go away. Will take a long time, but it is possible.

Additionally, lets hope those who are unvaccinated aren't responsible for the next variants, and let's hope the next variant isn't more vaccine resistant, or effects all ages they way current variants attack the elderly.

Last, nobody could know the 8-month efficacy of a vaccine that literally only about 9 months old before we hit the 8-month mark. Many vaccines require boosters and multiple shots. Again, why have spots for 4 shots on vaccine cards if boosters weren't a very real, distinct possibility?

No, if the young healthy person does some research on the vaccines and on the risks of getting covid, it makes sense for the person to get vaccinated. It's a simple case of one option being clearly better than the other. And the huge side benefit is that by getting vaccinated, you are benefitting others besides yourself.

Of course you could always wait until you get covid and then take some livestock parasite medicine...

What would they be leveraging? The patients will still come to the hospital. If indeed it WAS a walk out on their shifts then I repeat, eff em. They'd be being dramatic and unbelievably selfish since walking out will only add ten times the stress to an already stressed system and staff leading to many more needless deaths. That's why I don't really think this is a walk out as much as it is a group of doctors getting together to draw attention to a problem but not really "walking out."

This was presumably about vax hesitant and mask hesitant people, yes? Do you really see many of those people seeking answers to questions? The answers are available from a huge collection of very well-informed people. IMO, I don't feel that the "hesitant" folks are intent upon seeking reliable and valid answers.

Getting out information on treatments. Being positive about dealing with a real virus that is likely going to be an endemic. Stop shaming people as we are likely headed to second/third/fourth generation vaccines and other treatments going forward.

I have said it now multiple times in similar ways.
