Played golf today with a department head at the hospital in Joplin, MO. He said 2-8 people a day are dying there from COVID. All were unvaccinated. Everyone in ICU is unvaccinated. There are some vaccinated people who come in but they are all going home. He is on a mission to get people vaccinated.
I hear you. I take no delight whatsoever. But I am sad and I am mad. He was one of those with a hugely influential platform, using it to sew distrust and defiance against vaccinations. Who knows how many people have gotten sick or dying because he influenced them?
People are sick and dying for many reasons. However, if people allowed this moronic clown to influence them and as a result end up sick or dying, then the true root cause for their condition is their own ignorance, and again, I have no compassion for the willfully ignorant.
I honestly don't want anyone to die, but as far as the irresponsibility for entrenching a collective ignorance and defiance, those in leadership positions and who have social influence like Valentine did deserve the scorn that they receive. They are a danger to all of us.
Anyone who is not vaccinated he is offering to take them to the hospital see what is going on. He can get them in.
And here's an odd coincidinky for you....A DeathSantis mega doner has a big stake in the company that manufacturers Regeneron. More oddness...DeathSantis' press secretary was suspended from Twitter for sicking her followers on the AP writer who helped break the story: Twitter suspends account of Ron DeSantis press secretary after harassing AP reporter
Regeneron supplies its treatments world wide and they have been working for over a year. Ron DeSantis is absolutely meaningless to them. I would be willing to bet that like any good Bio-Tech, they have bribed...uh, sorry contributed, to every major Democrat and Republican politician who is, or might some day, be in position to help them out.
I think you missed the sarcasm in the post from @gatordavisl. Although I cannot speak specifically for him, I think the point was that the reckless policies of DeSantis discouraging vaccine mandates and the use of masks resulted in many more cases of Covid-19 and consequently more opportunities for the use of therapeutics like Regeneron.
Their Govt. contract was already done. And Citadel has such a small stake in Regeneron it's quite comical to think that was nothing more than a smear piece. I know you know that, but others are too partisan to see that.
I listened to Phil back in the day. He was much tamer than the Rush's of the world. Seemed like a really good dude. Much more of the mainline conservative back then. Sad to see it came to this.
