You don't understand how clinical trials work. If a clinical trial shows 95%, that is what is reported. That is not 'advertising', it's just data.

i think this quote from it is what we’re expecting....

“But some experts fear that Israel’s high rate of infections among early vaccine recipients may indicate a waning of the vaccine’s protections over time, a finding that contributed to a U.S. decision Wednesday to begin offering booster shots to Americans starting next month.“

Hawaii's current covid rate per million people is still half of Florida's rate. Masks must be helping.

We didn't expect booster shots within 8 months when the vaccines rolled out. No one was saying that.

LOL. We had many on here parroting said "data" as gospel. Now we have serious issues. And we have no clinical data about the efficacy of a 3rd shot yet.

You’re revealing your ignorance once again.

The clinical trial was a measure of relative performance during the clinical trial period. It is not “gospel”, and nobody that I saw suggested they expected a permanent 95% efficacy. Though the real world results have actually backed that trial data up (efficacy in the 90’s). Perhaps with the Pfizer vaccine in particular starting to tail off vs. the delta surge, the Moderna vaccine has not seen the same dropoff even against Delta.

I read the article and found it frustrating in that while everthing it said was true, it lacked context, and was obvious to me that people like yourself would quote and misread it's intent.

Yes the vaccines have failed to eliminate covid completely and with delta there is a resurgence in infection, and even a small number of deaths. And the vaccines may be losing potency.

But in spite of all that, the outcomes of the vaccinated are vastly superior to those that don't have it.

Delta didn't exist when the clinical trials were being conducted. What was reported is what the data showed at the time. Now studies are showing different results and those results are being reported. That's how science works, though it's no surprise that you don't understand that.

You are quoting something from a month ago. Good job! Way to be up to date on things. Yeah, nothings changed in a month...

Don't see where I'm saying the vaccine doesn't help. But it's not performing nearly as well as some on here predicted. Anyone over 18 and not naturally immune and not taking the vaccine is not looking at the data. Vaccine is much better than not taking it for sure, i've never said that. Masks on the other hand.

Not really, ER is tough you deal with the best of the best and the worst of the worst.
Most I see is people wishing more people get vaccinated, but I don't see people actively chastising them if they are covid positive and unvaccinated. not helpful to say I told you so!

Fair enough I can see your point, eventually the numbers will catch up, you can't hide the deaths unless they are nursing homes residents in NY...;)
