Many times we stop giving Covid patients their statins if their liver function tests are even a little bit elevated while they're on Remdesivir due to its effect on the liver.

This is really horrible and dangerous stuff. At some point politicians need to be held accountable for the lies they spread. She is a really awful human being.

Would Fauci have a potential civil case against her for slander?

That makes sense given the Remdesivir side effects. I do think when many of the earlier studies were taking place, they were gathering data even before Remdesivir was available. That is part of the reason why making conclusions from large data sets that include treatments in the earliest weeks/months of the pandemic are so muddled. People were throwing everything that they could think of at this infection.

Shionogi still progressing through trials of their anti-viral pill aimed at those with mild to moderate COVID. They are part of a 3 headed monster (Pfizer and Merck) who are looking to bring oral anti-virals to the market by the end of 2021 (assuming Phase 3 trials go well).

Molnupiravir now under "rolling submission" to Health Canada authorities. This allows Canadian authorities to start reviewing early safety and efficacy data while Merck/Ridgeback continue to collect data from their stage 3 trials.

Unsurprisingly, Pfizer has submitted initial data to expand its booster program to everyone 16 and above.

BTW, I know the math is not a 1:1 and cannot be compared that way. Yes, I admit it. However, I do find it interesting that the Moderna shot was a pair of 100 microgram injections (no dilution) while the original Pfizer shots were 30 microgram shots.

If we are seeing a divergence finally in protection afforded people between the two shots, I wonder if the non-diluted, higher volume shots of the Moderna vaccine play any role in that at all??

This directly contradicts early speculation about the Delta variant relative to the Pfizer vaccine protection. It is both interesting and timely, being release just a day or two before the US announces support for booster shots for the entire vaccinated population.

This is a better explanation about Delta and why it might be spreading so fast relative to evdience that it is not evading most of our anti-bodies.....

I get a kick out of the anti-vaxxers complaining that they don’t want an experimental vaccine that isn’t FDA approved except under emergency use and which prevents disease or severe disease, but embracing experimental synthetic antibodies that are approved as an emergency therapeutic for those who get sick even though it sometimes is ineffective.

My doctor friend told me last night about 2 different people who refused oxygen because they said it wasn't an approved drug. One checked out of the hospital against medical advice and later died.
