The death rate isn't dropping, the cases are still rising at an exponential rate. Once that peaks, you will see that metric start to climb. You are seeing the cases from earlier in the curve, when the rate was increasing at an exponential rate but was still lower, resolving but when the cases are much higher and still increasing at an exponential rate, death/cases will continue to fall.

Unfortunately, this is what can happen when you are trying to research in front of the entire world and sharing results in near real-time. I will say this though, the media sucks. And, people twisting data to fit a narrative suck even more. There is a LOT of that going around by the government and people opposing the government and they are all damned fools in my opinion.

The only published data that I really saw, however, was from NIH researchers and it was all concerning the Delta variant and the Monoclonoal Antibodies, specifically those from Eli Lilly. I have seen reports from other, non-NIH sources about Delta and evading.

Reduced sensitivity of SARS-CoV-2 variant Delta to antibody neutralization - PubMed

The other papers I have seen published also confuse the situation by blaring headlines like "Reduced Sensitivity of Neutralizing Anti-Bodies Against Delta", and yet, most of the data is about Monoclonal effectiveness. Here is the the main paper that keeps getting quoted, but the last paragraph clearly states that 4 weeks after the Pfizer second does the vaccine protected patients serum neutralizes the Delta variant 95% effectiveness.

There are some really smart people here, but there are an equal amount of dumbasses

My wife had to go to the ER for an injury and x-ray last July, and there was not a single soul in the Viera Health First hospital. We were in-and-out of there in a couple of hours. Right now, she may not even get seen

Rantz: UW Medicine patient forced into unwanted COVID vaccine to get his liver transplant

Yeah, that is kind of how it works, I had a friend whose mom died waiting for a liver. They kept moving her to the back of the list because she wouldn't stop drinking. I have a brother in law who had to stop smoking before they would let him even get on the list for a heart transplant.

There are more people on the list than organs that are availabe (make sure you are signed up to be an organ donor next time you renew your drivers license). If you aren't a good candidate for a transplant there are plenty of people who are, and the medical staff is justified in making that call.

The mask aint one of them…

Then again you might be a fitted N95 guy.

That said…it sounds like I like you take measures that actually do work.

However. I am not arrogant enough to think it is impossible to not pick it up and bring it home.

We have not gotten the virus. So yes human behavior is a huge part. Not only when it comes to why the mask is pointless. But in how to avoid the virus. If you want to go get vaccinated, wear a mask, and stay home as much as possible for 2 months...feel free.

There are other ways to navigate this thing without the arrogant feel of your position.

LOL. Citadel has larger holdings in both PFE and MRNA. Wouldn't it be better for DeSantis to push that? That is an absolute garbage hit piece. Not surprised, but there is zero journalism going on I guess. I mean, the stock in question isn't in Citadel's top 100 holdings and constitutes .04% of their holdings. So yeah, lets call it what it is. Plus, the WH also endorsed Regeneron as well. So is the WH in on this also? The MSM sucks these days.

Neither am I. I have both surgical and N95 masks. When in a circumstance where I'm going to be indoors and extended close contact is unavoidable, I have worn an N95 - when flying, for example. In more casual situations, I will still wear a surgical mask, even though I am well aware it is less effective. For the most part, I attempt to minimize contact with random people. My wife and I aren't dining out or going to bars. We're fully vaccinated. And work from home. We tend to use shopping services and have stuff delivered (for convenience as much as anything). My opportunity to pick up covid 19 is pretty slim. You can't eliminate it completely, but you can limit your chances with the right behaviors.

My major 'risky' behavior is that we have regular dinners with another like-minded couple. So yes, if any one of us gets covid, it could spread to all 4 of us. But as we're all employing similar tactics, we judge the risk to be acceptably low.

The data since this thing began can easily be compared to high compliant and low compliant communities when it comes to the mask.

    To each their own.

Our family is certainly different. And our family of 5 has continued on with minimal change. Minus being in the store we do space more. Which I actually like. Staying healthy and covid free so far. Vacation with like minded family in Gatlinburg. Have friends over who are like minded to Palm Coast. Cancel if anyone is feeling under the weather. Even had to cancel a weekend with close family friends because their kids picked up asymptomatic covid at a camp from a symptomatic vaccinated teenager about a month ago. Rescheduled for Labor Day weekend now where we will be outside on the boat and in the water. You see people can live normal life and take the necessary precautions.

But I understand some are not ready for that yet.
