Ask Brazil how well Ivermectin worked for them. Lol.

Ivermectin has not been shown to have any significant benefits for treating COVID.

The anti-vaxx crowd is coming out in force with same out of context statistics again.

Over 85% of Israeli citizens are vaccinated....so, makes sense a larger % of the infected and hospitalized are vaccinated. I guess it means nothing that so few are actually hospitalized as compared to pre-vaccine days though.

20 died in July. Down from 1000 per month, or 1/50th, at the peak last summer pre-vaccine.
1/10th the number of infections per month relative to last summer pre-vaccine.
1/12th the number of hospitalizations per month relative to last summer pre-vaccine.

Oh yeah, what a horrible picture this paints of the vaccine in Israel.

That's not a good inference to draw. NC is right.

It might be though that a booster might be needed. A smallish sample study out of Israel raises the question about whether the pfizer vax is losing some efficacy after six months. Still need to be careful about what we can conclude.

There are several large scale, placebo controlled studies that are in progress right now. It is likely that the use of Ivermectin is addressing secondary infections and allowing the immune system to function more efficiently with addressing Covid-19. More importantly, if you do not get the dose exactly right, then this ends up like hydroxychloroquine where it does more harm than good.

Ivermectin works by injecting a fungus from the soil into your intestines. The fungus binds with the proteins released by parasites that were meant to block the immune system from mounting a defense against the invading worms. There is at least a little thought (no proof) that these parasite released proteins are affecting the immune system beyond just killing the parasites. So indirectly, if you are infected by parasites, Ivermectin may help with treating COVID as it helps to de-stress the immune system. The drug is also used in different dose levels to treat heartworms in dogs and other parasites in horses.

Last estimate I heard, nearly 60% of the world's population were infected by parasites, so there certainly could be something to this drug. Used in the right setting and in the correct population, there will be significant benefit.

Meanwhile, while people are freaking out about a handful of tragic deaths from the vaccine and mild myocraditis, Ivermectin has a history of causing your blood pressure to collapse, causing severe ataxia, and has been known to cause comas or even death. Strange how anti-vaxxers are not afraid of death from their dog's heartworm pills, but are scared to death from having to take ibuprofen for a few days to alleviate mild myocarditis or a sore arm from a vaccine.

Your linked story does a great job of making it look like Merck is not pursuing this drug because there is not enough money in it. Contrary to what most believe, Merck and many other large companies look at the reverse. What would be their exposure to wrongful death lawsuits if people started taking this drug by the Billions in the developed world and dying from it, as opposed to small number of people in the 3rd world, where dying young from disease is accepted, and no one would notice a few bad drug reactions??

I really do believe that you and others have it wrong with painting anybody who doesn't take the vaccine as anti vax. I know you guys don't believe me but I'm not anti vax just don't see any reason for it now sense I still have antibodies ,so once they're gone( might be with me for life) or until it's FDA approves what's available now or some better becomes available then I'll consider it but right no reason to

Some people get lost on all but the most basic humor. Sarcasm is perhaps beyond their reach. The heartworm medicine actually didn't fail, the use of it as treatment for covid was the actual failure.

Nobody is suggesting anybody w/o the vax is a non vaxxer. People, however, who call attention to the Israeli statistics and draw a flawed inference from it, run the risk of being labeled an anti-vaxxer. ;)

Looks like somebody doesn’t know how to draw conclusions from raw data.
