Is that 60 LPM of O2? I had no idea you could dose that heavily. How do you manage the exhaled O2 rich air in a hospital environment? Seems like a fire marshall's worst nightmare...

Why don't you explain how a study like this is ethically designed with a control group.

My take away isn't just the peak. Notice the slope. It's slightly steeper than the first 2020 peak, and WAY steeper than the one we saw last July. This despite having 50% of the state vaccinated.

71% against hospitalization is markedly down from other previously quoted hospitalization numbers.

Agreed, but we are seeing the virus evade antibodies regardless of the vaccine type. 71% against severe disease/hospitalization and 96% against death is pretty darn good.

I understand everyone wants 100% or whatever is realistically close to it, but still, for a one shot vaccine that is easily transported to every corner of the globe. We should all be celebrating in my opinion.

Even with Delta hospitalization has been mid 90%, but that may be Pfizer. Going from 90s to 71% is a pretty big variance. It's saying 30% of the people who would have been hospitalized will be hospitalized anyway even with vaccine. That's still worth having, if it's the only choice, but that is getting towards flu shot level effectiveness. With that level of serious breakthrough you can't assume the vaccine protects you agsinst serious illness.

Your analysis and information are terrific. I suggest they you Don’t go down the path with these personalized exchanges with that poster. Every exchange with that poster devolves and readers lose track of the analytical exchange. Almost everyone here just stopped responding because of the nature of the exchanges. Because we don’t learn or advance ideas by these exchanges. Just a suggestion. Note, for example, the criticism of a real world study without a control group. I asked for an example of how he would design such a study ethically, and my post was ignored.

No longer just the old and vulnerable being killed by covid

In 10 days, 6 members of Jacksonville church die from COVID-19, pastor says

In the last 10 days, we have had six members of our church who passed away from COVID. Four of them were under the age of 35. All of them were healthy, and the only thing they had in common was they were not vaccinated,” he said.

He says 15 to 20 members are now in the hospital, another 10 or so are at home with the virus and three to five vaccinated members also tested positive

I think that's actually about the same as the original J&J efficacy. If you read the fine prints, the J&J vaccine's efficacy was always given as efficacy in preventing "moderate to severe" COVID, which they define as requiring supplemental oxygen, which is a hospitalization criterion for COVID.

New ‘Delta Plus’ COVID Variant Detected In San Francisco Bay Area: ‘It’s At Least As Bad’ As Original – CBS San Francisco (cbslocal.com)

MOUNTAIN VIEW (KPIX) — As the Delta variant of the coronavirus fuels an ongoing COVID wave, Bay Area health experts are keeping a close eye on yet another variant: Delta Plus.

“We believe that it’s at least as bad as Delta,” said Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, an infectious disease specialist at the University of California San Francisco.

Like the flu this seems like it will be the new norm and the vaccines won't ever truly protect you either. Get ready to be required to get the Booster Plus

Post News: UK Researchers: Cholesterol Drug Reduces Covid-19 Infection by 70% (postnewsd2.blogspot.com)
A drug that treats cholesterol reduces Covid infection by 70% in lab studies, according to a team of researchers in the UK.

The researchers published their findings in the Frontiers in Pharmacology journal on Friday.

Fenofibrate and fenofibric acid significantly reduced Covid infection in human cells so expect this affordable medication to be blacklisted soon.

“Our data indicates that fenofibrate may have the potential to reduce the severity of COVID-19 symptoms and also virus spread,” Dr. Elisa Vicenzi of the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan and co-author, said in the release. “Given that fenofibrate is an oral drug which is very cheap and available worldwide, together with its extensive history of clinical use and its good safety profile, our data has global implications.”

Agreed, done debating him as it’s obvious he doesn’t want to address any data or questions that you pose to him. As Sam Harris says: If someone doesn't value evidence, what evidence are you going to provide to prove that they should value it? If someone doesn’t value logic, what logical argument could you provide to show the importance of logic?
