Tough loss, but not surprised. They looked vulnerable the entire Olympics and it finally caught up with them. Andonovski's seat is possibly getting warmer.
The problem is that they care more about protecting the older players who should have been pushed out years ago over developing new talent. Lloyd, Morgan, Rapinoe etc are well past their sell by dates. Maybe we have the talent behind them to fill in and maybe we don’t, but we don’t really know.
That's the game. Canada had 1 shot on goal, and that was the pk. Which was deserved, in my opinion. The US just didn't create enough opportunities, and when they did, just couldn't finish. That's the game. Agreed it's time to move on from the old guard, who are some of the game's greatest women ever to play, and time to move forward with some younger talent.
