With so many questions unanswered, wanted to gauge the interest in Gator Nation by getting a feel for the direction the fans would like to see Scott Stricklin take with the program. Vote for ALL the candidates you would like to see or be okay with as coach.
I put a vote on both Delisha and Murriel Why? Because former Gators who have had heavy international and WNBA experience. Their personalities really mesh with the college players these days.
Love Karl the most, but I think he fits more in the B1G than the SEC. Still think he would do well here, but I don't think we'd be his first choice, or he ours. Gail is actually intriguing, because I don't think we would offer her anything close to what she thinks she's worth, but she is running out of time and options if she wants to re-establish herself as an elite D1 head coach and UF could be a decent fit. She certainly has the gravitas to handle this job under these circumstances. Maybe the timing is right for both sides. Still, I think there are many, many other names out there that we could consider. Someone like Megan Duffy at Marquette would be a prototypical UF hire, but maybe under the circumstances we look for more experience. The search criteria may depend a lot on how the season goes... I'm also curious who we may add as an assistant for this season. The recruiting situation must be quite awkward, but surely would be nice to have an experienced X/O's coach in practice and on the bench.
I’m wondering what this year will look like with Kiki and Lavender in the portal . Heard they are trying to get a school to take both of them
Didn't know Kiki hit the portal....we are okay as long as we don't lose Zippy or Nina, but we are going to be short on depth. Alberte will be great I think. I worry what this recruiting class is going to do now with an interim.
Lisa Leslie - Wikipedia Lisa Leslie is coaching a 3 on 3 league team now and is a studio analyst for Fox for the Magic. I think this might be a nice out if the box option. Appears to want to get into coaching.
Apparently Lavender Briggs is staying. So at least the immediate future of the program got a lot brighter this afternoon!
Really hope this is the case. We finally have the talent and the depth... really want to see it come to fruition.
I thought this was the case which is why I asked if Lav was actually in the portal..they had updated the roster and she was on there still. If she stays here even if we don't win she will go down as an all time great gator and will easily be a lottery pick. I think they have a good roster this year, and if floor and faith have made a decent jump we may crack the top half of the sec. If she leaves...she may not have the freedom she has in our offense to produce as much and may have a diminished role. I would stay if I was her. But I will support her regardless!
