Being vaccinated, I'm not concerned because the data already shows that over 99% of those hospitalized are those that are unvaccinated. There is no breakdown with the vaccine because of a few breakthrough cases, hospitalizations and deaths. How many have caught COVID a second time? We don't know because we don't have that data. You are passing off your speculation as fact with no data to back it up. Your decision to not vaccinate after being infected is solely your decision and you bringing it up is a red herring fallacy and frankly I don't care what you do. The claim you made here is that natural immunity is superior to vaccination and this is flat out a false statement. You have provided no data backing up your claim.

It's a shame that acting with decency triggers Republicans so much. It didn't used to be this way.

From today's NYT news letters (with embedded links to charts that can added if requested)

Hopeful news: Caseloads are falling in Britain — as happened in India — suggesting the Delta variant may fade more quickly than initially feared

No doubt good news, but I suspect that this is also why DeSantis thinks he can get away with calling the current surge "seasonal". The man is not dumb. Gamma and other variants may come thereafter, but it will support the seasonal claim

Ok where are they? Point to one study. Yes you have immunity from previously catching COVID. We don't know your level of immunity because immunity is dependent from person to person. We don't know how many people have gotten infected a second time because we don't have that data.

We’ve had a couple that I know of that had had Covid prior that I learned about through conversations with my colleagues. None that I treated personally. Those patients fared well as far as I know. I really can’t speak to natural immunity and how it compares to the vaccine. I can tell you that personally I’d still get the vaccine even if I’d had Covid before. I’d probably wait a few months first though. At least that’s what our docs are advising.

When was the last time YOU had an antibody test?

Evidence Piles Up That Covid Immunity Among Previously Infected People May Be Long-Lasting (forbes.com)

Is natural immunity enough protection against COVID-19? | wkyc.com

It's important to remember that immune protection isn't always equal. Some people may have a stronger response than others and Dr. Gordon says there's no antibody test currently that can accurately gauge the level of protection.

This isn't the first study that looked at natural immunity. In April, a study out of Penn showed 91% of people who develop antibodies against the coronavirus are unlikely to be infected again for six months. However, there may be a variant that develops that can work around both the vaccines and natural immunity.

Dr. Gordon says those who've been infected can still get vaccinated if they so choose, but those who choose not to should be aware that eventually that protection will wane. Just like those who've been vaccinated.

How is there a break down in the vaccine?

Some people who haven't vaccinated catch it a second time and that my go up as Delta spreads.

May not be accurate as the UK had a lot of AZ vaccine which isn't as good vs Delta as Pfizer and Moderna.

Ok your first link just states that COVID immunity may be long lasting. It does not show that it is SUPERIOR to vaccination.

Your second link is just a preprint study that shows that individuals who have had SARS-CoV-2 infection are unlikely to benefit from COVID-19 vaccination. No where does it show that natural immunity is SUPERIOR to vaccination. So basically you haven't backed up your claim you have made that infected immunity is superior to vaccination.

Well thats your opinion. I won't be getting the vaccine since I have natural immunity. If you were trying to convince me into getting the vaccination you really aren't good at this
