I would not since it's like the flu vaccine and it doesn't work that well

You don’t disappoint me aside from being an unamerican anti-vaxer. Which admittedly is a deal breaker for me. So I guess you do disappoint me deeply. All things considered. Way to take up an idiotic opinion in the name of politics!

You care deeply. That’s the saddest part. Your identity is so wrapped up in hating “leftists” that you’d be lost without them. It’s your raison d’etre. Sweet life bro.

This tweet convinces me more than ever that the government should back off the rabid anti-vaxxers.

The government should not pay the medical expenses for anyone who has COVID unless they are vaccinated.

The government should "encourage" insurance companies not to cover it either without vaccination.

The government, who paid for all of the MAB treatments should restrict use to only those who have been vaccinated and then become infected with co-morbidities.

There....completely out of telling morons how to live their lives.....or not live.

I saw that. Same reaction. You're not going to get vaccinated out of spite because you think Trump didn't lose and you don't want to do what liberals tell you?? Good God, how infantile can one be.

So, we have a choice. We can read the paper, the data in the paper and the conclusions of the scientists based on the statistical analysis of that data or accept your contrary word as to what it means. Tough choice.

No. He says that He has COVID and believes that he has just as good immunity from having had the disease as if he had the vaccine. Since the purpose of the vaccines is to expose the immune system to the virus protein and react the immune system to recognize and stop the disease at onset of infection, his reasoning makes sense. And I don’t know why any other result would be different for someone who had a sufficient viral load.

I quoted the studies authors. Tough luck. Keep up the fight though! It doesn’t do anything and it’s been proven, but hey, virtue signaling means something, right?

Still around 95% of our Covid patients are un-vaccinated. Pt census is now up over 50. The entire ICU is Covid and several of them are in their 20s. All 20 ICU patients were not vaccinated. It takes a lot to get off the regular Covid floor and get sent to the ICU now where as before all it took was having to be put on bi-pap. Now we have more serious cases on non-ICU floors because there's no where for them to go. We lost an otherwise healthy 40 year old woman on Friday. Still, thankfully, like during the last spike most patients are going home after a few days.

I can't stress enough to those of you who have not gotten the vaccine to do it NOW. And if you have any family members who haven't gotten vaccinated I would ask that you STRONGLY encourage them to do so. The proof is right in front of me every day that the vaccine saves lives.

I am one who rarely takes any type of medication, I hardly ever get sick , I think I've missed 3 to 5 days of work in the last 20 years. I've been very fortunate. With that said if I was to start getting sick and needed medication or a vaccine then I would take either of them. But as of now my natural immunity has been perfect, so I see no reason to take the vaccine. Like I already have stated we take and rely on way too many medications. Those at risk have under lying conditions , the elderly or over weight those should be the ones protecting themselves.
Look how long the flu vaccine has been out, I've never taken it but my wife has she still got the flu each time she took it and I haven't had the flu in about 5 years might be luck or I just have a great immune system

    Yes , Yes and Yes
How many who has already had covid caught it for a 2nd time and hasn't been vaccinated compared to those who have been vaccinated ? How many them died? How many of them required hospital stay? There's already been a few studies showing natural immunity is better than the vaccine. You would have to go back several post to find all the different articles posted with the studies, then it comes down to each induvial to choose which doctor or scientist to trust

How many of those patients had covid before and have caught it for 2nd time compared to those who had been vaccinated, you never really hear or see that comparison. Since your obviously seeing it first hand. I personally feel natural immunity is better than the vaccine or at least just as good . What's your thoughts on this? Everybody that I know that has had covid and not taken the vaccine still hasn't caught covid for a 2nd time that's not just luck

Sorry flgator, cliche as it is, science doesn't care what you...or I...or anyone else feels.

Can you explain why it can't be luck? Are you sure that having gotten covid you can't get it a second time or a third etc.?

No I didn't say I couldn't catch it again. I do think my natural immunity is better or just as good as the vaccine.
Yes I and everyone that I know who has already caught covid and hasn't been vaccinated yet, haven't caught it for a 2nd time yet that could be luck I guess
That means everyone who has been vaccinated and caught covid must have bad luck then

In a sense, you can say it's bad luck. But little about covid is absolute. Gotta think in terms of probabilities, e.g. despite covid being a considerable danger to public health, only about 1 in every 9 Americans have been infected at least once. This probability varies depending on multiple factors such as individual behavior/routine including things like work conditions, distancing measures, vaxxed or not etc., and of community spread in your community. That you haven't caught it again is in large part a function of the above.

As for natural immunity, what I was questioning was how you seemed to tie it to not having gotten sick again. It could be that your immune system would help decrease harmful effects from covid reinfection but it's dubious about whether it would protect you/others who already caught covid from catching it again. And who knows now what is happening with the Delta variant...still much that is questionable.

The vaccines help us get to herd immunity and protect the people who can’t get the vaccines, immune compromised, young children, etc.

Without herd immunity, we will keep getting variants until the Loki one tricks us all. But much like Loki, it’s all about me.

    No?

If you get sick it would be too late for you to take the vaccine. It wouldn’t do anything for you.
