@tilly locked it for awhile. But, the Kelly thread was a different animal. This started as an effort to be a central place for information but devolved.

Your non-stop, self absorbed, boasting is tiring. You have toned down the insults, which is a good thing. If you understood scientific method, study design, and statistics, you would understand the frustration that the research scientists and medical professionals who post here express at your posting. My backsgound in science is that which a lawyer needs, which thanks to Daubert, is enough to grasp the concepts if not the details. You would do well to listen to what they say about the conclusions you reach from data and studies.

Like I said, you weren't going to understand it, much like you don't understand many of the studies you link to.

Not sure but I think that happened to do some cleanup in the thread.

So what is your take on Florida roaring back with the most infections right now?

The vaccine isn't working to good but those previous affected are pretty protected from natural antibodies

Yeah, it has nothing to do with the 11 million unvaccinated people in FL.

Why is it so much higher in FL than other states?

In terms of hospitalizations per 100,000

    New York - 4
    CA - 6
    TX - 13
    FL- 24

    Why so much higher?

i know that some of you here are going to call me nuts, but i think there might be some book cooking in regards to the number of new delta cases. today, for example california and florida reported almost 19,000 new cases, and guess how many new tests they reported, zero, silch, zip, nada, none. how is it you can report positives w/o tests to show?this is not a one day occurance, it seems to happen 3 or 4 days a week, and who knows what other states are doing the same.if you are reporting new cases w/o documentation, what good are the numbers being reported, other than perhaps scare un vaxed people to get the shot.i do not think, and i may be wrong, but i do not think the number of tests is ever updated in those states.

So what do you think is most likely:

    1. You are misreading / don't understand the data
    2. There is a reasonable explanation
    3. There is a conspiracy to cook the books

Looking at 14 day averages in those states in NYT the data seemed reasonable to me.

Vaccine isn’t working 100% or isn’t working at all? Clarification in your statement would be great.

I think regardless of the numbers it is in sync with the increase in numbers of hospitalizations.

I figured Florida would lead a lot of states for summer covid cases. It's has to be the primary vacation destination for much of the US. Makes sense to me the virus would spread more easily. Florida is about at the National average for % vaccinated at 49%. It's not like everyone in the state in an anti-vaxer.

It's part of living in paradise.

I believe the vaccine is not working as well as natural immunity

Anyone that thinks lockdowns, school closures and vaccinating kids is a good thing are open game for me. Some people will stare data in the face and make up any and all excuses for real world data. I only reply to posters in a negative tone when they start it with me. If someone can’t handle it then don’t start it. Simple as that.

Infections mean nothing. Let’s use what the cdc uses for breakthrough infections. Count only hospitalizations since there are plenty of false positives. Simple solution.
