Boggles the mind that anti-vaxxers may actually get stupider if infected.

 

It should be noted that the peer reviewed scientific literature has now seen multiple studies showing that there was a gap between areas that had mask mandates and those that didn't. Here are the links of some of the published studies.

So I guess this means unvaccinated Trumpers are going to get even dumber, if that's even possible.

 

I have no idea exactly how effective masks were, but there's no doubt that many (at times myself included) just tried to get away with the bare minimum in terms of masking (what looked like it would pass the enforcement tests). I have a hard time believing that it's not the case that the more effectively someone wears a mask, the more productive the results will be. Many places would let you get away with below the nose or even chin diapers as long as it looked like you were making some effort to put something extra on your face. So I think it's more than about mandates or not, but about the actual effort to make the mask wearing successful.

I am in NYC and heading to Connecticut tomorrow. Very interesting to be in a place with the virus presently under control and to talk to people who act reasonably. NYC is open and folks carry masks for indoor activities.

 

First study stopped in Sept 2020. Wonder what happened after that? Wonder if they will do a follow up from that? Too easy. Anyone can stop a study to make it look like masks work. I'll post real numbers and people can decide for themselves.

Yes, peer review takes time, so you need to stop the data at some point. However, a statistical analysis is a superior data analysis method to "hey, look at a bunch of charts that some random on twitter cherry picked out." That is why that is how scientific knowledge is developed with the first method and not the second and why your method wouldn't withstand peer review in any kind of scientific journal.

 

LOL. Have to stop somewhere is so good. I know you don't believe it so that's the best part. That data is the definition of cherry picking. That's like doing a study on college drinking and only do the study from Mid Dec to Mid Jan before everyone is back on campus. If the study didn't do an update then those who did the study are obviously biased.

 

The studies all stopped at different points. You are displaying a complete ignorance of how peer reviewed journals work. You don't just get the thing into a journal and update the data without additional peer review, which, again, takes time. Peer review doesn't prioritize speed for the most part. It prioritizes accuracy. But, again, you didn't read any of the papers, so I recognize that you have no substantive knowledge of any of this. Just pointing out that the scientific literature has now grown pretty extensive showing the exact opposite of your claim and these papers aren't being retracted.

If said “peer reviewed” study didn’t put in a follow up to the complete blow up of cases after September than that paper is garbage. Here, let me help with what the authors should write “sorry, whatever we said before was completely wrong, cases blew up and masks had no effect. Sorry for wasting everyone’s time.”

Sure. It is so easy that I highly suggest that you submit your analysis to that journal as a rejoinder. Think of how great it will be when you are published completely disproving a peer reviewed study by experts in the industry. Good luck with your paper. Let me know how it goes.

 

What happened in Almost every state in the US in mid October? So let’s see if I got this right, masks worked right up until they didn’t work and then all of sudden they worked again. Yeah, that sounds very scientific…
