Excellent question. I think we’ll have a better win/loss than last year. I think another 20 win season.
No so I changed the thread title to an appropriate subject. Apologies to the board and administrators
If I am interpreting Tim correctly, he is saying that we’re not going to have a very good record, but Mike White is nevertheless going to get paid a boatload of money.
There's instructions on the shampoo bottle. Then there's this.... Shake well before use (the bottle not the dog)
Well if history is any guide, the season will go like this: We will look like garbage early on, and put ourselves behind the 8 ball for most for the rest of the season. We will then get on a decent run later in the year to get into the tournament (which people will say was in doubt in early Feb). Then we will win one game in the tournament, and people here will spend the next six months fighting over whether or not it was an acceptable season. HTH.
I love the "come on man" that I got on the post above. I long for the old days when people had a sense of humor.
Regular season 19 wins if we come together and all the guys can shoot. If we are launching 3’s and no one is consistent, well it could be bad. We have talent, I wish another 6’ 9” or above, but even so, we should skim into the NCAA tournament. If all we think is defense with no offense but slinging threes, this is not consistent with high percentage winning basketball. Coach Mike White, spend time on an inside game where people can get open. I’d say 50% offense teaching, 50% defense. As for the two tournaments, one SEC win, NCAA one win. Now, all the sunshine pumpers, tell me this is wrong and why we can get to 25 or more wins. Think you are betting your house on 25 or wins, what makes this a guaranteed bet? I am trying to be realistic. of course no one knows if KJ ever suits up again, If Jitoboh is in shape, or the transfers going to be ballers in the SEC. Please make me feel better and we can win two in the Sec T, and the NCAA t.
The only thing I feel sure of is that we’ll be a tougher, more competitive, team. No idea what that means record-wise, but if we’re tougher I’ll at least start watching b-ball games again.
Sounds about right. There is the crowd that is happy with making the tournament, as though that is a great achievement for a division 1 team. Then there are those of us that want a team that is capable of making a good run in the dance each year and is consistently in the top twenty five. We were at that level once and think it can be reached again with the right coach. Until that happens, much interest has faded for basketball, at least it has for me.
