Fox News’s anti-vaccine bulldung has real impacts and those people have American blood on their hands. Pretty awful for a network that wraps itself in a flag to actively work to kill Americans.

And someone else who could have used those lungs will die, because this reckless jackoff didn’t get vaccinated.

I’ve read three articles about the Delta variant this morning. The common factors about increased hospitalizations and deaths is unvaccinated and people 20 to 50 years old.

Los Angeles just had its third straight day of 1000 new cases. Miami is rapidly increasing in hospitalizations, many unvaccinated younger adults.

Two of the articles said the delta variant cases are coming in sicker and passing away faster.

This variant may be a game changer. It’s not to be ignored.

I’m on vacation in Dandridge Tenn. staying at friends house. Both are in their 60s and unvaccinated. Both think the vaccine is BS.

Delta spreading faster and putting younger people in icu and morgues
Covid hot spots hospitals: 'We are seeing people passing quicker than before' - CNN

Lauren Toman, the hospital's director of respiratory care, said that while during previous surges patients tended to be older and have preexisting conditions, patients now are younger and healthier -- but are coming in sicker and getting worse more quickly.
"They rapidly decline, very fast, and then even after intubation we'll see them rapidly decline and unfortunately we are seeing people passing quicker than before," Toman told CNN.
All the patients she has worked with in recent weeks have been unvaccinated, Toman said.

Florida has reported more than 5000 new cases each of the last 3 days. They seem to be releasing covid data everyday again? I wonder if the surge in new cases caused them to go back to everyday instead of once a week (which was yet another dumb DeSantis decision).

playing devil's advocate, are the cases from the last 3 days those days only, or are the 4 previous unreported days portioned in?

Makes sense since the variant is more efficient at infecting cells. So, the infection spreads to more cells before the immune system can react.

Delta variant accounts for 58% of US infections; cases, deaths rise in most states: COVID-19 updates (msn.com)

Seven Mississippi children are currently in the hospital due to coronavirus infections, with two of the young people on life support, a top health official said on Twitter Tuesday.

State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs also tweeted Monday "pretty much all cases in Mississippi are delta variant right now" and the "vast majority of cases/hospitalizations/deaths" are among unvaccinated people. "7% of deaths in vaccinated worrisome — we are allowing too much circulating delta to reach our most vulnerable," he added.

At the University of Mississippi Medical Center, pediatric admissions for coronavirus-related reasons have increased in the past three weeks, said Dr. Alan Jones, UMMC's associate vice chancellor for clinical affairs. There are currently four pediatric patients undergoing treatment at UMMC, he said, with two of the young patients in an intensive care unit.

In Missouri, CoxHealth CEO Steve Edwards, who oversees a large health system in the state, noted a similar concerning trend among young people, saying, "We are seeing younger and sicker patients coming."

Wow that does not seem seasonal at all. And I didn't think it was seasonal when he said it and was a little bit surprised that someone as smart as him would say something like that, knowing that he may well be exposed soon

That's total nonsense. 'Normal' seasonality? In year 2 of covid there is no normal. It hasn't been around long enough to establish a 'normal'. What we are seeing now is a spike due to the delta variant.

I agree. I'm trying to remember his exact words. That's why I linked to the piece. He basically said that we had an increase in June and July of last year before it dropped down in the fall and that it's following the same annual pattern. He didn't even mention Delta although I don't think that was within the question. That podcast is great but they don't always play the full questions, so I can't say that he dodged that part of the question. But he did definitely say it was seasonal and was just following the same pattern as last year and that he expected this back in May and it was coming and that he was not alarmed.

And as I said before, though I despise most of the guys politics, I have always given him credit for being smart. But I was talking with a buddy about it today. DeSantis may really feel the pressure to go more crazy under the current political atmosphere. He's not a dumb guy, but it's very difficult to be in the modern Republican party and still maintain mental stability

Florida reported 6425 new cases today and 71 deaths. Lots of unvaccinated folk are going to wish they had gotten the shots.

Was that our weekly number, or have they started reporting on a daily basis again?

Later today or tomorrow we have to decide if we are holding services in person or going back to zoom, in the email gathering opinions they updated our number to 15 confirmed cases (2 of whom were vaccinated). We never had more than two at a time prior to this. Hopefully we are outliers.

Wouldn’t it be .44? .56 is the rate people are vaccinated, so .44 is the rate they aren’t.
