I have no idea what he will do so I’m thinking avoid the speculation and just wait and see. I do feel like it will be a family decision.
BREAKING: #Gators land 2023 RHP Grayson Smith out of Georgia. Smith is the 97th ranked prospect and the 22nd ranked RHP in the country. I cleaned up the players by position and roster in the OP before the draft starts. Sorry guys and Gal I haven't been on much lately. My wife is dealing with some health problems still after a 7 day visit to the hospital. She will still need one or two other procedures in the weeks to come after a few more doctor visits. Shands might end up as the best place for her to get the best treatment. None of this should be life threatening but we need to make sure she doesn't risk damage to several organs involved. All that so you know I appreciate all the updates I keep seeing here even though I'm not commenting much. Thanks to all for the draft info and discussions that will follow.
Matherly; So sorry to hear what your wife and you are going thru at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you and we hope the additional "procedures" go well for her.
Dropped in the first 10 rounds of the draft info into the roster and signees list in the original posts on page 1. I'm doing it for tracking purposes if it helps anyone else see who is left in the weeks ahead.
Building a list of everyone still on the roster, less anyone drafted, in the portal, or graduate. Good job, man. Thanks. Caglianone is one of those 2-way players who could do some pitching as well. Abner is a big time LHP to get on campus. Lot of talent in the incoming group and it will be interesting to see which ones earn some quality playing time. I'm expecting Tim Manning to make a leap.
Hey buddy, I haven't followed this thread and just read your post re your wife's health issues-- very sorry to hear it. No doubt UF Shands is the best in the state and beyond so hope all goes well and she has a full recovery.
A couple of questions on guys missing from your list. No Fisher Jameson or Pierce Coppola? Neither was drafted. Has Cal Greenfield decided not to return? Finally, I was under the impression Jonah Diaz was now at JU?
Here is Perfect Game's list of Gator high school signees for 2021, along with their Perfect Game national ranking: Florida - Perfect Game Baseball Player College Commitments
It appears Diaz is at JU: Jonah Diaz Class of 2021 - Player Profile | Perfect Game USA https://twitter.com/jonahdiaz1?lang=en
Hey thanks Burke. My list was one I grabbed from another post that was already cleaned up. I must say I don't follow many high school players or prospect websites so whatever was easy was good enough for me. I'll use the new one the Ocalaman just listed and patch in the players that I missed.
Thanks to Ocalaman I went back to post 49 and updated the signees on the list, minus those that were drafted. Who knows how this will all shake out but at least we can start to piece together some idea of who is on the team for 2022.
I thought I read Gatorgal listing Cal as one of the seniors being honored at senior day. I wasn't there so I may be wrong. Having us add Lastres and Riopeille with Guscette and Langford I can't imagine Cal has any chance if he stays.
There are roster limitations too even if he isn’t getting a scholarship. Sully likely has been forced to encourage some movement to make way for the big new FR class.
I understand Sully has to get his 2022 roster down from some 50+ possible candidates to the low 30s but having Acton transfer to UGA and now Carrion to FSU arguably 2 of your biggest rivals is rather interesting. Apparently the reports of some 2021 roster unpleasantness were true. Acton I somewhat get with his reduced playing time. However, Carrion played quite extensively for a Freshman.
