had forgotten Blue Ruin....really liked it. Liked Green Room too. A movie that I think is similar is You were never really here with J. Phoenix
Really liked I’m thinking of Ending things and Buster Scruggs. The Lives of Others - Cold War E Germany The Cuckoo - Finnish WW II My Teacher, the Octopus - documentary
My top 5, depending on the mood, in no particular order, and subject to change without notice: Office Space. Comedy and for those of us that have worked at the office we all know Lumberg. Scarface. Gangsta. "Say hello to my little fwiend Terminator. Monster movie. "Come with me if you want to live" The Big Lebowski. Silly comedy. "The Dude Abides" Purple Rain. Concert. Some of the scenes were shot where I grew up.
I didn’t love it but maybe in the same family as -the endless... -the ritual Also enjoyed... -the invitation really, really enjoyed... -searching for Sugarman (documentary about a long lost musician)
Oh thanks. I’ve been scared of watching that one as it seemed like it was going to be really depressing, but I’ll put it back on my list.
Good call. And since I apparently think of Elijah wood and Daniel Radcliffe as the same person, this made me think of Swiss Army Man. Pretty awesome and deranged movie.
Anyone catch "The Beyond" Sci fi? LOVED it, really interesting and unconventional ending to a Sci Fi...................
Alright goodlife, this shit ain’t for free. You better put a little more effort into your thread if you going to reap these rewards. I’m expecting a couple gems from you at some point. Some seriously bad to bone flicks follow....(your welcome in advance) Planet of the Apes (1968) Somewhere in Time Groundhog Day Training Day The Wicker Man (1973) The Visit (suspense) The Vanishing (1988) Rosemary’s Baby The Ninth Gate (suspense, mystery) Fearless (drama) The Big Sick (true story Rom-Com) These movies, simply put, Do Not Suck.
Love your list O&B A couple more: Ordinary People - I freakin "cry" every damn time I watch it! Breaker Morant - Boer war tale and a damn good one! Hombre - Always WILL BE my favorite western!! - Well now - mister - your made out of some hard bark - (We all die, it's just a matter of when) bang, bang, bang.....sad end. African Queen - Bogey and Hep??? Get outta here, ain't even fair........ A Bridge to Far - Damn Montgomery........... Alien 1 and 2
Both of these are awesome movies Rule 303: During the Boer War, Morant was court-martialled and executed for shooting Boer prisoners of war with his Lee Enfield. Asked what rule justified such behaviour, Morant famously replied: "We caught them and we shot them under Rule .303 Breaker was also a poet: It really ain't the place nor time To reel off rhyming diction - But yet we'll write a final rhyme Whilst waiting cru-ci-fixion! No matter what "end" they decide - Quick-lime or "b'iling ile," sir? We'll do our best when crucified To finish off in style, sir! Also Sophie's choice was one of those like Ordinary People where your heart catches in your throat. Such horror man sometimes visits upon others.
Indeed - Breaker is so great because it's a true story and the poetry at the end is so good........... A real favorite.
