When I first read this assumed you had some info that the driver, Ronald Greene, had 15 felony arrests, and was high on fentanyl. I’ve read a bunch of articles and, and even searched to find that info, and I don’t see any news reports stating either to be true. Do have some source with that info?

If they really did say he died on impact then they shouldn’t be believed. He was clearly alive in the video.

He's assuming that because Greene was black.

    If im right?

Haven't made any assertion beyond what I said I saw, and just asked others if there was any more to it--such as what Valdosta posted. That adds some depth to it.

Based on the reactions, i was expecting a lot more shock from the vid. Apparently they havent released the most damning parts.

Thata not asserting a defense as much as asking for the meat of the offense claimed.

    Fwiw.

Just asking where the egregious stuff suppodedly was, bc i waant seeing it in the vid in the AP article.

I'm talking about the victimhood where you imagined someone saying you're too stupid for analysis and that your UF degree did not "equip you to engage in such behavior." Throw in the "ppl will think you're educated" line and it's an obvious case of victimhood. Nobody said those things - you imagined them.

"you" was generic 'you', not 'me'--as in his posts struck me along the lines of STFU, get in line, and toe THE party line--as served up by AP, Madcow, et. al., etc. Maybe didn't come out so clearly, but it was directed at his posting, not mine--the last thing I was doing, was whining about how my posts were being taken--if you're remotely familiar with my posting history, you must surely know by now, that I don't really care what ppl think of my opinions. I've never ever been popular on here--pissed way more ppl off than garnered support, going back to the days when I'd be posting mostly in defense of Catholicism against a particularly vocal group of enthusiastically anti-'Papist' bible thumpers. I was alone then, and never felt the need to have my positions validated by other posters.

so yeah, you misread that post.

IOW - you are wildly sensitive about the ways people perceive your opinions. [IMG]

    Whatever.

Still wasn't victimhood. At least I own when I'm wrong, while you feel the need to change the subject.

Man up, and own that you misread that post.

While you're at it, how about coughing up the basis for me supposedly "...defending these criminal actions"...

By minimizing the nature of the crimes of the patrolmen, I felt you were defending certain criminal actions. But you probably feel I'm misinterpreting your post ;).

I thought the video was shocking enough, though I've seen enough of these police brutality videos to not really be 'shocked' by any of it. The video, plus the fact that they initially lied about how the guy died, should have been enough for you to at least make some pretty strong assertions.

Feel? nah. You absolutely misinterpreted that too.

    What did I actually 'minimize'?

I expressly limited my commentary to what I actually saw on the video.

I acknowledged that the PO's substantially deviated from protocols, and that disciplinary action was in order.

What I questioned, was where was the egregious stuff--the stuff characterized as "...the police beat the guy to death"--because while it may very well have happened...it was not captured on that video, nor the next one I watched at Wes' prompting.

So, if you want to say I minimized what was shown in that vid--guilty as charged--partially because the expert commenting on it, was blowing things out of proportion, along with the AP article, and MadCow (IOW, they had me expecting to SEE much worse than I saw).

Now all that said, Valdosta's post among some other posts have provided some depth and info, specifically to establish the fact that...we don't have the whole picture.

Seems to me the story would have been better served by owning we weren't getting the whole picture, rather than plowing up the portion released into something was not (or at least, which I thought it wasn't).

TBL: the blank spots suggested by the missing 40 minutes, and the radio talk, carry far more punch that the video portion released--and I don't think that's me minimizing what happened--only what we actually saw happen.

    fwiw.

I was fully expecting to be outraged to the core.

Instead, I was drawn in to dissecting the vid, looking for the shocking part, and not really finding it.

    fwiw.

Seems to me like they were tasing him for sport. And the fact that the guy died and the police lied about it adds a whole bunch of additional context.

IIRC, the tasing occurs BEFORE they get his hands behind his back, as he was resisting the whole time.

As for not relessing the vid-- thats part of what led me to expect fsr worse. I thought that vid WAS what they were covering up.

It's all good, bro. I can see where you're coming from since we are missing so much footage. The only caveat, imo, is if the wreck was worse than than it looks. Then, maybe he's so injured that it doesn't take much for him to lose his life. Looking at the car, it does doesn't seem very plausible. Even if the remaining footage shows that it's not as bad as it seems, the stalling, lying, and non-reporting are signs of a systemic issue.
