Translation: don't bother analyzing anything for yourself--you're too stupid to do any such thing; you're UF degree does not equip you to engage in such behavior.

Just parrot what the AP wrote, and Rachel Maddow says, and what the 'expert' tells you to think, then ppl will think you're 'educated'.

Was there a high speed chase? FLORIDA, by the way dedicates and entire almost half page of the 100+ page manual to what to do if pulled over. Maybe that could be a bigger part of the driver training as well. I would imagine most people don't know you're supposed to switch to parking lights and turn on your interior lights at night.

Excellent point. I took it for granted that there was one.

The whole video is 40+ mins, and has yet to be released. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it.

This is the car he was driving. The police told his family that he died instantly when he hit a tree...

And you have this officer saying that he "beat the ever-living f***" out of him. That sounds literal at this point.

Again, if I'm wrong, I'll admit it. But with the stalling, lying, not following body cam policy, not mentioning using force in the reports, etc. It sure smells like a coverup of killing this man.

No need to post a link. Just watch the AP video in the original post by War. It is in the captioning of that video and also mentioned by the so called expert speaking on the video.

It must have been a totally legit use of force and “perfect” according to their training.

That’s why they lied about his cause of death being “crashing into a tree” for 2 years.

So here's my take on that (obviously not a lawyer, just an opinion):

    source

We already have reason to believe (image of the car) the police lied about the vehicle crashing (or at least crashing as an end to a "chase"). At this point, I would put it on the police to have to prove any justification for a reason to pursue the accused to begin with as well as have to prove that there was any kind of a chase high speed or not. If they can't show dashcam footage indicating there was a chase (or even some type of audio logs that indicate communications related to being in a chase...something), then they shouldn't be believed.

My understanding was the footage released so far didn’t include the beating, but you are correct they referenced beating him and “blood everywhere, I hope he doesn’t have AIDS”, so obviously something happened.

Aside from that, the thing that jumps out is the obviously false story about crashing into a tree. Filing a false police report is a crime. What happens when the police file a false report?

It's amended after public opinion turns against them to include slightly more truth than the original version.

If you projected this kind of victimhood upon the deceased, you wouldn't be defending the criminal actions of these patrolmen.

I really feel for the victim and his family. Nobody should get treated as he did regardless of the circumstances. I would take issue with you stating it was more outrageous than what Chauvin did. Tough to compare which killing was worse. Chauvin was going to keep the knee on his neck until he was dead, with the intent to kill him. This cop may or may not intended to kill Ronald Green. What he did was awful in a fit of rage, and the cop certainly deserves whatever punishment is coming. We probably need to see the full video for context, as that will (i guess) determine what the DA charges him with.

Interesting. Doesnt look like the kind of accident that would cause life threatening injuries.

I've been for mandatory body cams for LEO's for years. It protects not only the public but also the LEO's. Video should be released to the public when requested as well. Think having body cams will hopefully get rid of the bad cops. Not a perfect solution but it's a good start. This coming from a mostly conservative person.

If you are right, then why did they cover it up for two years after claiming he died on impact in the crash?
My answer is they knew they handled it terribly.

Had they said exactly what happened as it happened and the video showed what it shows, then this all likely ended without much fanfare.

But they chose to lie. They chose a cover up. All of them. The man died from the event. My guess is the video is not telling us everything, otherwise why the coverup?

There are, of course, several more BWC videos to come. Thankfully, someone had the courage to release the first one. Additionally, Hollingsworth's BWC audio has been released in which he stated he "beat the ever living f out of him and choked him and everything..."

Finally, take a look at this photo of Greene's head the NCAAP released at the family's request last year to generate more interest in the case. It certainly supports Hollingsworth's statement about what he had done to Greene...he literally did beat the "ever living" life out of him.
