Actually PD, I think you DO understand that "ideal" !

Pubs spin the "less is more" / hate your Gov't mantra because it suits their ideology. The ideology is quite simple:

Pubs support unfettered Machiavellian Capitalism. Despite going to church on Sunday, which is one day of the week, the other six are spent on unfettered capitalism.

The GOP has cleverly (brilliantly) hoodwinked the American voting electorate that "business" specifically of the Corporate type is the salvation of every ill of this nation.

This of course assumes that the social model currently being "played out" is sustainable.......forever.

Being a person that pays more attention to Scientists and Academics than AM radio blowhards, that are stuffing money in their pockets while playing the propaganda game of never ending consumption, the EARTH, our shared PLANET is breaking down, breaking down in terms of sustaining a Human Population of 8 Billion.

The WORLD will not end but a planet capable of sustaining large human population levels most certainly will.

So to quote one of my all time favorites:

Lets bungle in the jungle - The Monkeys (Republicans) seem willing to strike up a tune!

Indeed. It takes strength and courage to plow through it in conformance with the rules/law, but any weak ass wussie can cheat and lie if they think they can get away with it. Ever seen that before Jake?

I don't know how many times people would tell me "I don't need an appraisal, I just need to know what the house is worth." Stupid on steroids. Ignorance +arrogance. If you ask a state certified appraiser for a value it is an appraisal by definition and by law. Freaking DUHHH!!!

So many people in this world think they know everything when in reality they don't know jack squat. Memo to morons: Just because you may be an expert in your own field does not qualify you as an expert in everything. Yet there are a LOT of people that are just that dense. There's no talking to them.

If the GOP is moving on past Trump, and removing Cheney was just so she would stop talking about Trump, why are all the fundraising emails they send me talking about Trump?

Maybe you should take a look at state governments.

You should line them up and shoot them then..... Since they are nothing more..... Please think.. Debating is what will make us a great country - not labeling those that disagree. That is what has caused more wars than countable.

Well Andy - If I am 'nothing more' as you stated then why should I work, live, love my wife, pay taxes, go to gator games, love my children and send them to UF???

    You should NEVER label people.

One of my best buds I work out with is a dyed in the wool liberal and we disagree on almost everything political. BUT - we can talk and be great friends. Folks need to get along. Just because we disagree doesn't make us bad -- we just have our own minds. Good luck getting my family to agree where to eat!!!! lol

Interesting Knight, speaking for myself only, my opinion is that Capitalism has
created a society of "somewhat" cooperative entities working together for profit.

Division of labor continues to "shrink" in that technological advancement has forced individuals to become "specialists" in their respective "field". Capitalists also insist on "Just in Time" deliveries for most products, especially in food and other important consumable products.

This works fine when the system is "clicking" but when supply chains break down, specialists can't help specialists, then society has a problem. This has been revealed just recently with gas shortages associated with the Colonial "hack" and of course steel and lumber. Semi-conductors / chips are also in demand "crises".

And we all remember what trying to get toilet paper and paper towels was like during the pandemic.

Point I'm trying to make is that lack of stocking and storage would have a CATASTROPHIC effect should a serious problem such as pandemics, VEI 6 or 7 volcano's, drought or something similar occur on the planet.

Your Kumbaya attitude comes off a little disingenuous. If true, then you are definitely an army of one from the modern Republicans.

Listen to the news and read the QOP posts on TH first, then see if you want to still sing Kumbaya for the Republican party.

Its 23-27 in favor of the Republicans when it comes to Gubernatorial seats, but I’m not sure what that means in the greater context of our discussion. A State is subordinate to the Federal government.

Well some of those states with Democratic governors are places like Wisconsin or North Carolina, which the Republicans gerrymandered themselves more or less permanent control of the state assemblies. I don't think 'governors' tells the whole tale. Indeed, Wisconsin basically stripped the governor of lots of powers. In Michigan, the GOP was able to limit the governors emergency powers with their control of the state/courts. Redistricting isn't going to favor Democrats in any state with a divided government (though it may be a wash in some cases). Only 15 states have a Democratic trifecta.

Gerrymandering, IMO, is really what is keeping Republicans relevant politically. Without it, as well as the electoral college system, they would have a very difficult time.

Yes, and the attitude on the other side is "well, we can still win elections sometimes." So their relevance has a lot to do with the acquiescence of the opposition in their fervent hopes to "break the spell".

Gerrymander some states to keep the Rs in play. Manufacture some crisis to keep them interested.
Infest the universities and media to keep the Ds in play. Manufacture a devil to keep them interested.

Rinse and repeat every four years. Meanwhile the elite grow their wealth exponentially while we fight for the scraps from their table.

Trump is still a big draw with the idiot parts of the republican party. They are trying to keep them happy while Trump gets ready for his indictments.
