I guess that wouldn't effect any of our current four transfers. I believe the two that are from SEC schools are both graduate transfers anyway (Christmann and Newkirk). The other two (Shelton and Bowman) are from inter-conference origins and one of those (Shelton) is a graduate, too.
You don’t (as a strategy) want to rely on bringing in grad transfers to fill needs, but if you are going to take them, it’s a hell of a thing when they have an attitude like Shelton.
Interesting tweet in as far as revealing perhaps that he finds (as a graduate transfer), the University of Florida after just 1 spring........... a football program where others might also like to call home
It is as though Tennessee is adjusting their roster to the level of a UCF, while UCF got the experienced SEC coach who has brought in some SEC players.
This would be a nice pick up along with an OT. I still can't believe we are so inept at offensive line
it really is crazy isn’t it? You would think, like the RB position, even with a bad HS recruiter there in Knox you’d fall into a quality premier OL recruit/transfer at SOME point like we have at RB.
True, but imho the in state talent at OL has been lower per capita than you would expect for a lot of years, and many expected as top talent haven't panned out well whether they stayed in state or not, of course with some exceptions to that rule. If we don't turn the corner with some of our younger current players like Braun, White, Eguakun, Leonard, Mincey, Tarquin, and Gouraige. I don't think Hev is gonna get us where we need to be even if Brewster is helping him recruit. Even Brewster isn't going to get us guys that should be starting by their second year. We're stuck in develop or bust.
I’m starting to wonder if Hevesy is just a big time ahole and the word is out. Hope that’s not the reason though.
Seems likely, he's never ever getting a head coaching job like Sam Pittman or Matt Luke. It's much easier to be an ahole at Miss St when you're a kid's only SEC offer or like a lot of recruits from Mississippi desperate to go instate.
the way i see it is.....how many schools have tried to pluck Hev from Mullen? None. That’s all i need to know because say what you want, a GREAT OL coach is always on the radar for a promotion
