The vaccines have killed 6 people the virus has killed 560000. I get my second dose in 2 days. I am confident about this decision.
About how dangerous and uncertain these vaccines are. We are in a pandemic. Shortcuts were made. We all know that but the astra zeneca and the Johnson vaccine have harmed a remarkably few people.
He never said the vaccine was "dangerous". That is not true. ALL he said was that emergency use and full approval are not equal. He cited some examples of where some of the concern lies within the medical community. Good. millions are like you and I respect that. I encouraged my own parents (69 and 71) to do the same. Now, once again....please cite what the 30 year medical professional said that was incorrect. Again, we cant beg for science but then deny any that may not be warm and fuzzy.
I know that everyone is pre-programmed to not trust the Russians, but I know a lot of brilliant theoreticians from Russia and in Russia, so I do not doubt that they have some brilliant people who worked on this. The interesting part is that the vaccine is a two part shot with each shot being different. The first part is a recombinant adenovirus5 vectored shot, while part 2 is a recombinant adenovirus26 vector shot. The ad26 is very similar to the ad26 chosen by AstraZeneca (chimp version) and the same as the ad26 (human version) chosen by Johnson & Johnson. It will be interesting to see if the Germans start making wide scale use of this if they seen any of the VITT now being documented in people receiving the AZ or J&J shots. Might be time to move to a new thread for Vaccine, Treatment and Cures updates or just stop adding and let this thread go down the path of philosophical, political bickering that every other thread has devolved into. I am a lot less inclined to keep posting medical updates as they get lost in the back and forth about the moral obligations of humans to get vaccinated or not.
I dont see the bickering as political. In fairness the argument seems to be about the Vax and cures, not so much politics. Just a blip until some real new news breaks. This thread will be fine and dandy imo.
Most of what he posted was about the Astra Zeneca vaccine. A vaccine not approved in this country. Herd immunity is why everyone who can needs to be vaccinated.

Losing your contributions here would be tragic, but I understand your POV. It used to be that when I saw this thread bumped I knew something meaningful had occured/was learned in regards to treatments or vaccines. It was my go to source. This sadly is becoming a typical TH thread. Discussion around the science of how and why we approach this virus this way or the other is great discussion, the rest is the typical red meat of TH. With the other covid threads locked, this became a place to chew on the bone. I guess we get what we paid for...

No? It was posted on the the National Center for Biotechnological Information government website. The NCBI is a branch of the National Institute for Health, so one would think such a study would be widely reported by mainstream media and embraced by the “science-loving” folks in Big Tech. Instead, a DuckDuckGo search reveals it was picked up by ZERO mainstream media outlets and Big Tech tyrants will suspend people who post it, as political strategist Steve Cortes learned the hard way when he posted a Tweet that went against the face mask narrative. The Tweet itself featured a quote and a link that prompted Twitter to suspend his account, potentially indefinitely. ============= Lot of information to back up this story at the link in the title. Worth a read for anyone interested. I have no dog in this hunt. Just passing this along as a data point.
