Excellent thread from Zoe Tillman on today’s detention heard before Judge Beryl Howell, and detailing many of the preliminary governmental allegations against the Capitol attackers

Besides allegiance to Trump and disregard for our democracy, what else did the rioters have in common?

A majority of the people arrested for Capitol riot had a history of financial trouble

Oath Keepers pledge to defend the U.S. Constitution. So what better way than attempt to overturn a constitutional election and storm the US Capitol?

Look how many cops from all over the country flew in to participate in this domestic terrorist attack and take part in assaulting/killing their fellow police officers. And these are the people who are supposed to protect and serve? Yikes.

Man, he was so much sharper back then. Even if he was lying.

Excited that the FBI is working to bring these violent criminals/seditionists to justice. I guess Blue Lives Matter only when it is convenient.

FBI releases new video on Capitol riot

The videos show assailants attacking officers with fists, clubs, unknown chemical sprays and even a device that resembles a baton stun gun or cattle prod.

In one clip, a man can be seen in a crowd fighting with law enforcement while wielding an apparent electroshock device. He repeatedly jabs the baton-like device at officers as it emits a loud buzz and bright flashes.

Another “law and order” trump supporter set to do hard time. Blue lives matter? I guess not.
Interesting read, a friend of the thug says Whitton used to be more normal but became more aggressive but everyone else has to. I guess killing cops is just rolling with the times.

Georgia man arrested in assault of Capitol police officer in Jan. 6 riot

In several videos posted online, the man believed to be Whitton is seen repeatedly jabbing at a police line with a crutch as the mob chants “Fight for Trump.” Another video showed him punching an officer, then grabbing him and dragging him into the crowd.

Body camera footage from a prone officer appears to show the same man, wearing a cap, repeatedly stomping on him as another man grabbed the officer’s leg. Further footage shows the man in the cap grabbing a fallen officer and dragging him into the depths of the mob.

Michael Adams, a Henry County resident and former business partner, said Whitton had “a patriot heart” but was betrayed by the president he followed.

“Looks like Donald Trump is a Judas goat, and he led his people to slaughter,” Adams said. “Trump is nowhere to be found and his people are going to prison.”

At least someone is catching on.

Those maga clowns who stormed the capitol are probably fortunate they did not try that in many other countries as they likely would have been slaughtered or beaten senseless. Instead they made social media posts about it until the authorities started charging them. Subverting the very document that in the end saved them from that bloody fate. I'm sure in their mind all would have been well if they had succeeded in stopping the certification of the election results and executing the likes of Pence, Pelosi, Schumer, et al. and keeping Trump in office. Patriots indeed

A Capitol Police official radioed units outside of the building on the morning of Jan. 6 and told them only to scout for anti-Trump troublemakers — not pro-Trump protesters, according to the findings of an internal investigation revealed at a public hearing by Rep. Zoe Lofgren.

Lofgren (D-Calif.) revealed the finding while she questioned Capitol Police Inspector General Michael Bolton, who appeared before the House Administration Committee Wednesday to testify about security failures that precipitated the Jan. 6 attack. Lofgren, who chairs the panel, described the findings as she asked him whether he had read the internal investigation reports.

The department's Office of Professional Responsibility found that a radio transmission to "all outside units' attention" that they should not be "looking for any pro-Trump in the crowd," according to Lofgren. She added they were "only looking for any anti-Trump."

Another piece of evidence demonstrating why this was such a massive failure by capitol police leadership.
Enough so that their failure should be viewed as criminal, imo.
