In an attempt to keep Jimbo from poaching more from Dade County? Or he's just desperate for an assistant coach?

Fill 2-3 needs, Great recruiting potential, fills a need at LB coach, And yes it help against A&M

 

Will be curious to see what kind of recruiter malzahn really is when he has a ucf logo on his shirt instead of an auburn one

 

Bet he can recruit as well.

 

As a side note: His HS coach at Lincoln HS "Yusuf Shakir", was fired yesterday from his present HC position at Manatee HS for unknown reasons. Shakir had built a outstanding community relationship with the the many youth football programs in Manatee County and will be greatly missed

We see the "Manatee Mafia" wrestling team at lots of local tournaments and I love their family/community support. They brought a tent and huge tailgate to districts, regionals, and states.

 

Hadn't he been suspended previously for essentially cheating?

 

Last year he and 3 other Manatee County head football coaches had been asked by a group of parents, to provide a tour of their facilities as well as speak to a group of middle schoolers from a Palmetto charter school. At the point that each of the 3 coaches spoke directly to the group of students, a parent of the kids streamed it on facebook. During the period each coach from 3 of those schools spoke to the kids, parts of that engagement were interpreted as recruitment (I watched the videos and I felt the talks gave to the kids were not any different then you'd see at a football camp for kids), the Manatee County AD self reported to the FHSAA and the FHSAA subsequently suspended the coaches and issued fines (which included coach Shakir)
