My step Dad is convinced that the Kraken is still coming and the the USSC will hear the Powell information on Feb 17th. His opinion is that so far no courts have allowed any evidence to be presented to a judge. I'm at a loss for words. Then again he also sent me a video claiming that Biden is actually in California on the White House set at Culver studios. I had fun destroying that video (spoiler alert: Biden is in the real White House).
Relative sent me a photo of the stop the steal folks on the street corners in Orlando yesterday ... Ironically, in front of a library
I debunked it on my own. It was obvious that the studio set looked nothing like the actual white house.
I think Dominion will definitely go after Lindell and MyPillow for slander (and maybe libel for the charts/presentation). Can OAN profit from broadcasting known lies yet absolve themselves by issuing a disclaimer when that disclaimer is contrasted by the piece title - "Absolute Proof"? It strikes me that at some point this may be a little like a small print contract clause hidden in product packaging that is disregarded b/c it was not truly available. Not sure but funny that Trump sued a TV station for carrying an ad they said was defamatory. The Law of Defamation and Political Advertising Argued in Trump Suit Against Wisconsin TV Station - Lexology Trump, of course, lost the case. Statement From Priorities USA Regarding Court Victory Against the Trump Campaign’s Defamation Lawsuit in Wisconsin - Priorities USA
OT but kind of related to the concept that the courts may be the ones to stop the disinformation campaigns. Story also indicates that Dominion attorneys told OAN not to run mypillow fiction piece and that their disclaimer would not shield them from the defamation suits if they ran it OAN forced to pay legal defense fees for Maddow and MSNBC after OAN filed frivolous suit against them Judge Orders OAN to Pay Rachel Maddow and MSNBC $250,000 in Attorney Fees For Filing Frivolous Defamation Lawsuit As previously reported by Law&Crime, OAN came under fire on Friday when the network aired MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s documentary-style disinformation program which alleged massive electoral fraud during the 2020 presidential election. The broadcast — some 12 hours total — ran as a paid advertisement. The Lindell broadcast included a lengthy legal disclaimer that sought to avoid liability for further amplifying false claims made against voting machine vendors and U.S. election officials, but attorneys for Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic said they planned to sue over the broadcast anyway. “‘Nice try’ by OAN, but it definitely does not relieve them of liability,” Dominion attorney Thomas Clare told Law&Crime via email. “To the contrary, we warned them specifically and in writing that they would be broadcasting false and defamatory statements of fact if they broadcast the program, and they made the affirmative decision to disregarded that warning and broadcast it anyway.”
They can debunk all they want, it must be true. The last time I saw Biden in the Oval Office on TV, there was a scroll across the bottom of the screen that said "Produced by the same people who brought you the landing on the moon." Now let me ask you, is it possible for someone to hack a TV broadcast? I don't think so.
So, Lindell runs a huge company, so he can't be actually insane. But ... MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell Goes on Steve Bannon’s Podcast, Calls Covid-19 Vaccine ‘The Mark of the Beast’ https://www.mediaite.com/news/mypil...calls-covid-19-vaccine-the-mark-of-the-beast/
It’s almost like networks doing disclaimers about the veracity of their hosts should cause people to go hmmmmm maybe this is all lies. But emotion > logic and political bandwagoning > thoughtful reasoned individual conclusions
The Big Lie's Mike Lindell warning us about "what happened in Nazi Germany." These people don't even know what irony is.
Now we know what Lindell was doing with all those notes visiting Trump in the Oval Office. Lindell was going over the book of Revelations with him. (The four horsemen of the Apocalypse, for example, represent martial law. They precede "the end time," meaning the end of democracy.) I'm sure Trump looked very serious, then as soon as Lindell left with his notes Trump had a good laugh. It's known that Trump laughs at evangelicals behind their backs, and Lindell wears a target on his.
Dominion going to be in the pillow business soon https://lawandcrime.com/2020-electi...letter-over-election-fraud-conspiracy-theory/ MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, a fierce and devoted ally of President Donald Trump, was sent a demand letter earlier this month by attorneys representing Dominion Voting Systems. Dated January 8, the letter was only made public on Monday. “You have positioned yourself as a prominent leader of the ongoing misinformation campaign,” the letter sent by Thomas A. Clare reads–referring to the conspiracy theory promoted by far-right defenders of the lame duck president that some voting vendors were part of an effort to steal the Trump vote and hand Joe Biden a win. “Despite knowing your implausible attacks against Dominion have no basis in reality, you have participated in the vast and concerted misinformation campaign to slander Dominion,” the letter continues before warning later on. “Litigation regarding these issues is imminent.”
I don't see a way out of this for Lindell. It will be next to impossible to do the FoxTucker "you can't really believe people take this guy seriously" defense. Essentially Fox was saying their audience is "sophisticated" enough to tell he is poo of the horse. While that is only cheers-worthy to the most craven of defense lawyers, Lindell doesn't even have this same foundation. He is presenting to all of the not-sophisticated-enough-to-watch-Fox crowd. I mean, if this isn't checktheboxes defamation, what is?
My step-Dad swore Lindell, Wood, and Powell were presenting concrete evidence of election fraud to the Supreme court Friday. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess this is yet another pile of QAnon bullshit.
Then he should cough it up or STFU. I grew up in the next town over from him at the same time as him and there's a reason he's crazy. Thinks he knows everything when he don't know squat. But he does know there are a lot of stupid people out there that are easily exploitable. Kinda like a certain former POTUS.
