Congrats, you’ve succeeded in posting a bunch of crap you don’t understand. Still on the school closures LOL. How’s Florida doing compared to the rest of the US? Florida has had in person school since August. You can keep your head in the sand like the teachers unions and California and Illinois and some other whack job states, but I’m happy to have my kids in school like the rest of the Floridians. I see you didn’t like the big North Carolina or Wisconsin studies on schools. Hmmm. Wonder why? We have the CDC Director saying schools have no reason of not being open. Good job by the WH of doing damage control for the teachers unions.

the sad part is this has now moved past being a safety issue and is now political, and children are ones caught in the middle. You know this and are either complicit or too naive to understand, I don’t know which. Biden is treading carefully because he doesn’t want to upset the union. It’s embarrassing and I’d say the same if a Republican did it. I’m not so entrenched in my views to where I won’t vote for 1 party. Most on here aren’t like that. And you are the perfect example of that.

I don't know either. This guy's been slinging insults from the beginning. After hundreds of pages where he uses the term 'corona bro' as an insult, I used the term 'covid troll' in a response and it was immediately edited by a mod.

No. I just like payed the CDC website. The CDC Director made a statement but it was noted that this is not the official position of the CDC.

So the DIRECTOR of the CDC said it’s safe for schools to be open but that’s not the OFFICIAL position? LOL. Wonder why? Couldn’t be the teachers unions who are threatening the Biden administration? No, that would never happen right? They wouldn’t put politics in front of children, would they?

You actually buy that crap? What a joke.

Post 21756 is all science. From the CDC website and the CDC linked JAMA analysis of the current state of the science. You must feel pretty silly having insulted one poster after another based on cherry picked studies that do not support your particular arguments about wholesale school openings, especially since for 12 days now the JAMA analysis of the meta data has been available? It is noteworthy you offered not counter discussion of the meta science, and just your personal opinion they it it a “bunch of crap.” You none the expression that a little knowledge is dangerous. You are exhibit a. So here is a hypothetical for you: child psychologist is a type 1 diabetic. Not vaccinated. Her room in a school is a small windowless room. A small child walks in with the child’s mother for an evaluation. This happens 7 times a day. All the rooms on the school are windowless? Or, the windows are closed because of the cold. Discuss the safety issues in these scenarios based on the science.

You misread what I posted and misquoted what she said. And you evidently lack the capacity to differentiate between all or nothing. The issue is under what conditions and criteria schools can open safely. And whether some can open safely at all, depending on the criteria for safety.

LOL. Too funny. If it wasn’t kids futures at stake maybe I’d let it slide. But it is kids futures and you and the teachers unions don’t care about science, just want to keep schools closed.

Most of what you said is utter nonsense. And with your hypothetical, child psychologist has a pre-existing condition. So she should IF she’s worried about getting Covid in a school that has lower transmission rates than outside of school grounds then she should be one of the teachers who does Zoom teaching until she’s vaccinated. But under the brilliant teachers unions, they don’t want to go back until the children are vaccinated. That is batshit crazy. First off, the vaccine isn’t approved for children and I predict a revolt would happen if the govt forced kids to get vaccinated with a drug that hasn’t been fda approved yet. You think I’m so buried in my position I don’t understand some people have higher risks? Wrong. But the VAST majority of teachers are safe to go back to teaching in person(risk is everyday life). So when you choose to not discuss the Wisconsin or North Carolina studies but then want me to respond it’s quite comical. Go knock yourself out trying to minimize those studies. And maybe, if you have time, go see how remote learning is going for kids. Sure those kids are doing excellent...

The Date On the CDC links are December 31, 2020; September 15, 2020 and the JAMA article that was linked was January 26, 2021. In light of the science, what are the conditions for opening schools?

. Neither of these posts address any of the science or the meta data. You post no links addressing risk factors or mitigation except that the psychologist should work remotely. Which already means don’t go to the school. And that means there is risk in schools. And calling it “bat shit crazy” doesn’t make public policy. Because once we a knowledge there are risk factors, then it becomes how to mitigate or control multiple risk factors and do this safely. So, next step is the hypothetical about the schoolroom with poor ventilation. Do the janitors work remote? What about The other teachers under 65 who can’t get the vaccine? Do we expose the kids to the risk of the virus given the acknowledgement by the CDC in the link that kids have died? You are pulling studies in isolation and ignoring meta analysis and the “big picture” addressing the risk factors. Picking and choosing. Bad science. Unreliable methodology to reach your opinion.

Try reading the CDC website absvtue science. Not posting isolated studies. You are advocating for wide open schools and insulting anyone with contrary ideas. Please identify with science what is wrong with the CDC guidance and and where the JAMA article misstated the current state of the science. Snark and Insults are not science. All risk factors discussed in the CDC link, the studies it references and the studies on the JAMA analysis.

The arc of this virus is so revealing:
    - It will all disappear.
    - It is just another flu.
    - It will only kill a small number of older people.
    - We can't make the cure worse than the disease.
    - Zinc, or whatever other quacky BS, cures it.

    Fast forward 500,000 dead Americans

    - Masks do not work.
    - Ignoring the advice of doctors/scientist caused no more harm than what would have happened.
    - This was going to happen anyway (despite the fact that the US has the worst record of any 1st world country)

One would hope that at some point, as a society, we could use the best and brightest minds in this country to formulate a broad response that sought to balance the competing goals of opening up again and minimizing illness and death. But so many Americans are so blinded by politics that many can't get past easy stuff like "wear a mask" and "distance" a year into this crisis? Have we reached a darwinian level of stupid as a species and perhaps this virus is a message from the future?

Dude, you are all over the place. Janitors? Who the hell do janitors come in contact with? See, that’s when you know you’ve won the argument when the other person starts making up random crap. Good try though.

See, the difference between you and I is I don’t take what the CDC says as gospel. I look at the things they post and cross check the work, I know that’s foreign to you. They have made mistake after mistake in policy and their “studies” they’ve released. Try reading before making outlandish statements.

The C.D.C. Waited ‘Its Entire Existence for This Moment.’ What Went Wrong?

I mean, what has the CDC gotten right is a shorter answer than what they got wrong. And yes, I blame Trump for a lot of that as well. See, I’m not a shill like you and some others on here. Notice how most states are following Florida’s lead(and what most of Europe is doing) by vaccinating the elderly right there with the medical workers. Teachers should be next on the list. But you get back to the grindstone and keep up the good fight to keep kids from school!

"The CDC Director made a statement but it was noted that this is not the official position of the CDC". When was that statement made? Couldn't be Dec 31, 2020 since the Director made his statement last week.

I havent read the studies on whether schools should open since I dont have a vested interest in it. I would think that in places where studies have been done, you cant necessarily conclude that the results can be applied to every school district.
