how is that not true when the NCAA already said it was true. It was part of the extra year of eligibility
OU fans are fine with him going. Says his stats don’t make up for the passes he gives up or how he’s a walking PI
Sour grapes over a 3 year starter leaving..... He went to IMG his senior year so, yes, we may have recruited him. Let's see, go to Utah to play with past starting counterpart at Oklahoma or give a senior year whirl against the best of the SEC to give a final good college impression to the NFL. I know what I would do.
Possibly in April. I wouldn't be upset if they wait until July to give Arik Gilbert a chance to be enrolled in May before they make this mountainous decision for 2021. Look at what has happened with Wallace on the softball team needing a waiver since she enrolled in January after the 2020 announcement in December. We don't need that to happen to Gilbert. An arbitrary selected enrollment date should not stop Gilbert from playing in 2021. This is the kind of NCAA crapola that makes me think the the P5 should break with the NCAA and make their own rules.
Dang, his cream has already risen to the top. After last seasons CBs nightmare, another top CB could only be a good thing. I hope Mullen contacts him. We need all the D help we can get for 2021. If Third & Grantham goes down swinging in 2021, I hope we will have given him the best D players we can.
more insight on him (good read) ThuneTakes: The enduring paradox of Brendan Radley-Hiles i think im good on him
It would be great if someone would do some specific play analysis of the phenomenon we know as Third and Grantham to find if it really exists and why on such plays our defense has been unprepared or incapable of making crucial stops. One would think that by now, if real, CDM would have had TG, Urban Meyer, and Steve Spurrier at a table figuring it out so that TG can separate himself from this... thing.
Link to the NCAA waiving or repealing the rule requiring a transfer student to sit out a year for the 2021-2022 year? Hint: Google it all you want, you will not find it. The NCAA and the SEC only waived their transfer rules for the 2020-2021 year. As it stands today, the transfer rules still apply for 2021-2022 and beyond. They may change later this year, but they haven’t changed yet. That was his point.
A true freshman waiting to be abused in the SEC and a color me unimpressed with his 2020 performance which has stopped all the yak about being a top player for the NFL. Give me a 3 year starter at Oklahoma incase either guy doesn't live up to billing in 2021.
One correction: Transfer players had to be enrolled in Fall, 2020 to participate in 2020-2021 sports. Hence, Skylar Wallace on the softball team needs both NCAA and SEC transfer waivers.
Think a writer here or at Swamp 247 did a story on this last summer or fall. If not, looks like a good job for someone.
Sounds like the kid made the right call to move on. I guess every fan base has a whipping boy when things go bad.
We can give him #44. Sign him up. UF could use a selfless, plays hard, and is all about the team CB/N to help out in 2021. Go get him Dan.
