All require resources. Are we doing any of them other than normal going through the motions.

Of course if it is a conspiracy to break the economy, it doesn’t matter

agree. It’s encouraging President Biden treats this pandemic with more urgency. It’s still surprisingly refreshing having trump out of office.

Speaking of foolish, you must be feeling pretty foolish for insisting there were only 300k excess deaths in 2020 when commonly available numbers show much more than that.

Tucson Unified School District lost six employees, including four teachers, to COVID-19 in a week. There have been studies that have shown schools are safe for the kids, but what about the adults who work there? Should they be forced to put their lives at risk?

This study suggests in areas of low to moderate community spread, schools should be open. But in high community transmission areas, schools should be hybrid or fully online.

so, who is doing the better job then, in your opinion, cuomo or desantis, leaving party out of it. i still feel there are many more anti-desantis posters here than anti-cuomo, despite the numbers, again, just my opinion.

Finally. A MSM report that admits the negativity needs to shift:
Reasons for cautious optimism amid Covid-19 crisis: 'The news about the future' is really promising - CNN

"For most of us, the best thing is to stop doomscrolling over detailed discussions about what drops in neutralizing antibody titers etc mean from Twitter threads," Zeynep Tufekci wrote last week. "We gotta get through the grim winter -- up your cautions -- but the news about the future has been really good for months."

That news about the future is primarily about the effectiveness of the vaccines.
David Leonhardt of The New York Times wrote Monday, "The news about the vaccines continues to be excellent -- and the public discussion of it continues to be more negative than the facts warrant. Here's the key fact: All five vaccines with public results have eliminated Covid-19 deaths. They have also drastically reduced hospitalizations."

You have clearly never been to a Rays/Yankees game or a Lightning/Rangers game...those people are the worst!

    Wait...what were you talking about?

This is basically what they’ve been saying for months. It’ll be a bad winter, then the vaccines should start kicking in.

    The key point was this:
the public discussion of it continues to be more negative than the facts warrant

That aligns with what many of us have been saying just upthread.

There has been plenty of good news, especially with regards to vaccines and deaths per reported case. Whatever you consider msm, the news i read has pointed that out.
There has been a lot of bad news on this thread, that happens when thousands die daily. There has also been some attempts to minimize the virus and the impact and some plain silliness along the lines of "only 3000 dead today, 2 less than yesterday!!"

Meh, IMO there have been cases of where positive is spun into minimization.

I honestly have no idea. I just come to this thread to get an idea of how things are trending. It’s difficult to find that information in between 95’s posts melting down about Cuomo or the death numbers being fake. Give it a rest. We get it.

well since the numbers and the way cuomo handled the whole nursing home fiasco are under investigation i would not call possibally twice the number of deaths fake, would you?

I don’t live in NY or FL so I’m not hyper focused on the actions of Cuomo or Desantis. I don’t even know what you’re talking about. I just wish you would both stop. It’s been like 100 pages now of you two arguing with the air.
