A person being positive after receiving a vaccination isn't uncommon, not is it problematic unless the person has serious symptoms. If the infected person with the vaccine is asymptomatic, then the vaccine is doing its job. The issue is with silent spreaders, which is why the CDC and doctors are recommending everyone wear masks, including those who have been vaccinated, until we reach herd immunity.

lets see if the media will ignore these facts.new cases lowest since nov.3rd. hospitalizations lowest since nov.28th.no they will keep talking about vacination problems and how poorly states are handling things, again put good news on the back burner.

    Try it more like this:

Great news today, new cases lowest since Nov 3rd, hospitalizations lowest since Nov 28th. Things are looking better for us.

If the media turned their focus solely to good news then how would anyone know what needs improvement and how would people be held accountable? Patting everyone on the back and only reporting on the things that are going well seems pointless in my opinion, almost like giving everyone a participation trophy.

What is the % of the population is needed to reach herd immunity? I'll admit I'm getting pretty frustrated at the % so far of the people who can get the vaccinated aren't getting the vaccine-based on organization feedback. These are healthcare organizations we're talking about. I don't know what the general population will do, I assume less? My wife (a pharmacist) will ask some people about why they aren't getting it and the response is so uneducated by EDUCATED people. The problem with this is if we don't achieve the needed level of herd immunity the virus can mutate to a degree that it makes everyone's vaccine ineffective, and in turn continuing the pandemic needlessly.

Leave out the dash(nose) and it will do it automatically ;) :)

And just bustin' you chops about the brew. Sometimes quantity/cost wins the day.

Isn't a positive test no longer silent though? They now know.

I like somewhere in between. Something like:

"I understand the business side of media and negative news attracts more viewers,
so you may have missed the fact that we have great news today!
New cases lowest since Nov 3rd!
    Hospitalizations lowest since Nov 28th!

Things are looking better for us."

It really is frustrating how much attention the negative gets from cable news.

We live in a world where getting educated can be tricky. Which source? Who is manipulating what that source says?
What about conflicting sources? What are the long term dangers?

It isn't as easy as just saying someone choosing against it are uneducated. Some are just scared.

I think what people want is a fair representation of both. That does not sell however. Look at your local news. They literally have to create little feel good segments to squeeze into the bad news that sells. If your perception of your city was based on your local news, you would move away tomorrow.

When I say uneducated I mean not resulting from sound logic. Or maybe properly balancing choices I should say. Risk can't ever be zero. But weighing that with COVID it's a no brainer. My wife has found many people haven't done the proper research or they fall into the "know enough to be dangerous" category. In the end it puts us ALL at risk.

No question. I just feel as a society we have been conditioned for better or worse to think that a safe vax takes years.
It's what we have always been taught. Many reasonable people can be nervous by a sudden about face.

I have no respect for the conspiracy aspects, but I do understand the legit long term safety concerns.
Especially as parents as we are faced with choosing it for our kids who will likely be safe either way.

If we accept the premise that only bad news sells, then people, by definition, want negatively valenced news. I reject the notion that news should be primarily driven by emotional resonance, but the notion that only bad news sells but that people want both positive and negative news is just inconsistent.

Seems like more just a way to complain.

You don't think the news networks are just too stupid to figure out what people want?
