This is an odd case. I'm not aware of any condition besides an allergic reaction that can make people severely ill right after vaccination of any sort. You can't rule out a vaccine reaction, of course, since the mRNA vaccine is not like any other vaccine we've ever had, but I can't really think of a possible pathophysiological explanation right off the top of my head.

There was a doctor or someone in the medical field here Gainesville that had a reaction only after the 2nd shot he said he wasn't able to work for the next several days. I'm sure these are rare cases but it's something to watch for those taking the vaccination, I don't plan on taking it

That has been proven to help with recovery if taken within the first 2 to 4 days.
The real reason their turning back in is more our getting the vaccinations. If more would have listened to Trump and his experts a lot more could have been saved potentially

Oh there are plenty who can't work for a couple days afterwards, including many of my colleagues. We expected that and staggered the shots so the whole hospital wouldn't call out sick at the same time. When I talk about severe reactions I mean life-threatening ones.

N.Y. Severely Undercounted Virus Deaths in Nursing Homes, Report Says

Shocked, I tell you, just shocked...

Been saying this for 6+ months. Glad the NYT's is just now figuring it out.

"The New York State attorney general accused the Cuomo administration of undercounting coronavirus-related deaths at nursing homes by as much as 50 percent, according to a report released on Thursday."

Cuomo should write another book. What a clown.

We’re you??? I must have you mistaken for another guy who’s been beating the “over-reporting Covid deaths” drum for months now... hmm, who was that then...

They didn't over report deaths. Look again. Same amount of deaths, just Cuomo made it look like he didn't kill a bunch of nursing home patients. Good effort though...

    Fail.

The NY Times had a podcast out late yesterday pontificating on why cases are dropping so fast. They laid a few, solid theories. First, between people who already had COVID plus those who have been vaccinated, we are starting to see the beginnings of herd immunity. They estimate the number of those with natural immunity plus those vaccinated to be around 20% to 25% in some areas, meaning the virus has significantly less vectors now to spread.

The other reason they gave was mitigating efforts seem to be on the rise, as things mask usage is up in many places. They said nothing about any change in WHO recommendations, and also noted deaths, the lagging indicator, hasn't seen the drop yet.

Oh, if there is still a sale on bridges in Arizona, the one over the Salt River in Tempe looks nice all lit up, even if it does lead directly to the ASu campus to the South.
