Question: What's the foundational reason that Alabama wins National championships? Great offensive and defensive lines that have great backups. Alabama has three good strings of offensive lines. If Florida had just one of those lines, Trask would have had the time to throw the ball. Our backs would have been able to run the ball. Check please... End of story..Fade to black and roll the credits...
I'm probably a minority opinion, but I think Bama had a really good defense. I believe that with the lack of spring and full fall camp the advantage the offenses have had over defenses became more pronounced. I think you put Cincinnati and other supposedly good defenses against Florida and Bama and they would have 50 points dropped on them and lose by 4 touchdowns.
The 2 starters will be Gouraige and Tarquin, Reese could be the back up on the right side only and the 2 young guys Mincey and Harrod.
And schools with quality and experienced QB play seemed to have HUGE advantages. One could argue that is always the case, but this year really seemed to heighten the importance
True and offenses are throwing it more and more now a days too so while D across the nation may “improve” from this past season with a true offseason, there won’t be many great teams with ELITE defenses like it USED to be. UGA D was great this year until they faced teams (us and Bama) who could throw on them. I think it’ll just be more bend but don’t break defenses nation wide now
I imagine Braun is going to start at G but be cross-trained to play T, with Gouriage and Tarquin our starting Ts.
Free education is nothing to sneeze at, and the light coming on after 5 or 6 years in football isn't unheard of. Just not likely.
I gotta hope we see the starting five as Gouraige, Braun, White, Reese and Tarquin. If Hervesy gets Delance back and he puts Reese and Delance on the right side again then something's not right.

Whoa. Your post alerted me. Just searched. Fired for cause and Fulmer retires. I guess both events have been a long time coming. Maybe Tennessee gets to avoid paying the buyout.
