He did turn pro. Last I heard is he announced for the draft over a week ago.

based on what? Whitt is doing a good job out there. Clearly progressing faster than others.

 

he only had 10 catches this past season. Not much to judge off of but it’s a step in the right direction

We need game changers in addition to solid possession types to win champs. If the best WR we have is a solid possession type (which is all Whittemore will ever be), then we aren't winning champs. Esp with our run game.

 

Wittermore made some outstanding catches this last year. Remarkable!
I see him in the same mold as Doering from years ago.

 

Be nice to have some speed to stretch the defense.

 

He is just renegotiating his contract with Alabama.

I think we may take some lumps early but ultimately I think in the long run we'd be better off letting our young talented guys play and compete for snaps. Marshall may start day 1.

 

That's how I see it and that's how it should be done. NOBODY'S spot should be safe at ANY position on this team if we're being honest. Yes we "know" Elam, Carter, RG are locks as starters, but noone else should feel safe about their spot. That breads competition and guys will be afraid to slack if they're being SHOWN that a young guy will get their spot if they aren't playing up to par.

 

Didn't we have plenty of speed? Grimes, Copeland, toney , Henderson, and probably the fastest TE in the nation.

 

He just needs opportunities.

 

I don't think he's going to get many. Maybe 20 catches in a good year.

 

Why do you say that? He has the best hands on the team.
