Transfer Portal Thread (Other Schools)

Wan'Dale Robinson at Nebraska just entered the portal. The numbers don't seem terribly impressive (50 catches at less than 10 yards a catch), but it's being treated as a huge blow to Nebraska, so maybe there's more talent there?

 

Two kickers on scholarship? All we have is Howard and Sessa now that McPherson is leaving, and, I thought Sessa was a walk-on?

 

I wasn't being specific to who we have now (though with the portal every year could be an adventure), I just don't see Mullen going beyond one scholarship for a kicker and one for a punter, but he did reportedly put a long snapper on scholarship, so who knows?

 

He is not on scholarship - Crenshaw is and no way do we put Finn on scholarship for next year and have two punters on scholarship. He is probably looking to transfer and a scholarship and a free grad degree. Makes sense.

 

I think the general sense is that returning seniors will not count against the 85 limit, but I haven't seen any real solid speculation on initial counters. I'm fine with them doing that. So for example Reese, Moon, Delance want to return UF could go to 88 scholarship guys next year.

 

But from what I read I believe it’s going to extend past just next year bec the eligibility didn’t count against any players so I assume it’s gonna be a 4 ish year thing

imo the not counting the eligibility year was an extreme over reaction

 

Possible, I just haven't seen anything formalized in that regard. But it wouldn't be too hard to expand to include kids taking advantage of the extra year. This would seem to be the biggest year for that, and we probably won't have more than 5 (if that)

 

Jacob Finn in portal

 

Former 5star CB Tyrique Stevenson has left Georgia to enter the Transfer portal. It’s believed Miami it’s the favorite for his services.

 

That kid is electric. Best offensive player for a crappy program. I’m guessing he’s Kentucky or Louisville bound, as he’s from up there. Not sure if we even have the room, but he’s a cross between Toney and Brandon James.

 

If he comes or goes to miami is all the same to me. I like the young talent we have coming in and our problem last year wasnt enough bodies but having the right people in.

Have to think that he is not at a position of need, and is not an obvious starter or impact players beyond what we have. The few available are going to go to 1st day starters or instant impact players, since we have real holes in the roster.

 

So when is Arik Gilbert joining Gators ?
