If we’re gonna start losing more players thru going pro early or transfers, they need to allow more counters. Otherwise it will be hard to keep 85 total scholarships. Even without COVID.
They already have augmented the numbers moving forward somewhat on a rolling scale. If it’s not set in stone it’s close to it. Wanna say it’s at least 5 give or take. I can’t recall exactly what it is but I have read something addressing it
Pretty sure we have that Aussie kid that we gave a scholarship to last cycle I think it was. I am sure it is more of a personal thing vs on the field thing.
I haven't seen anything regarding initial counters. I kind of hope they don't touch it...the last line of defense against insane transfer issues (if we aren't already there). It would possibly help UF a little, but would be a lifesaver for FSU, who is going down a dangerous road burning lots of counters on 1 year guys....will be tough to dig out of that hole even though it helps them next season.
He is a Walk-On and not on Scholarship I believe. So our "Special Teams" are taking a double hit, K and P
I’m not absolutely sure what the details are but I read something awhile back about a rolling “x” number that will possibly be adjusted going forward. I have no idea how it affects counters etc. you’re much more in the know that I am boss
Kind of suspect Mullen communicated to Finn that Crenshaw was going to be the starting punter next year.
Saw the Aussie getting some time, but, didn't see that as an unseating. Finn had two punts for 99 yards, Crenshaw two punts for 98 yards. Did Finn have a scholarship?
For decades we have relied on walkons for depth at punter and kicker. I can't imagine Mullen would carry 2 punters, 2 kickers and 1 snapper on scholarship.
