Quite a bit of damage in the last 4 years. Thanks for confirming how awful the Trump Presidency was.

This would be grotesque if these were people who worked at McDonalds. Unreal.

So the clothes on your back, qualifies as "not coming empty handed."

    You're hopeless.

You said "it's an easier road than when you have no money, no education, and no real work experience."

Cubans came without money. No, the clothes on your back does not qualify as money on any serious level. I seriously cannot believe you said that.

We live in a time and a country where it's easier to get educated than ever before and unemployment is at an all-time low (pre-COVID of course).

There is no excuse. The Cubans who fled the Castro regime are living proof that you can make it in America again, if you educate yourself, work hard, and build the right relationships.

They're "living proof" of exactly what I said. Educated, skilled immigrants do well. (MD's numbers only prove that.)
EARLY CUBAN REFUGEES IN MIAMI WERE MODEL OF SUCCESS
The first wave of refugees began fleeing Cuba immediately after Castro's forces drove President Fulgencio Batista into exile on Jan. 1, 1959. They comprised the island nation's wealthiest land owners, bankers and business barons escaping with what possessions they could in the face of Castro's national takeover of land and industry.

The immigration wave would continue through 1965, bringing to this country 210,000 of Cuba's brightest, most talented and resourceful professionals and entrepreneurs.

"Basically Cuba exported most of its trained manpower," said J. Antonio Villamil, formerly the senior fellow at Florida International University's Latin America and Caribbean Center.

If the timing of this coincides with the assault on the capitol, then there will have to be an impeachment.

Don't see Trump touching himself, so it is probably before they got in. There will be more videos. These people are as dumb as they are evil.

Hyeah because he knows that on the heels of losing the House two years ago, then losing the Presidency in November and losing the Senate on Tuesday/Wednesday, this was the final nail in the GOP coffin. He sees not only the de facto McConnell presidency ended, but his party about to officially, permanently split into two factions, neither of which will ever be big enough to regain any of the power they just lost over the last 2 years.

Another angle of the shooting. Near the end you can clearly see the guard on the other side of the door pointing his gun at the window in a warning-fashion while the terrorists break the window down. They saw him pointing the pistol at them and ignored him.

You again conflate BLM with antifa, which either shows your ignorance or your bigotry. GO READ the BLM mission on their web site. Confusing the two is like calling everyone at a Trump rally a member of the Aryan Nation, which would be idiotic and I have never seen anyone say. Yet you do just that.

Also, when Trump just speaks to supporters about Making America Great, he is like Obama and there is no harm. When he tells the Proud boys to "stand by", urges a mob to go to the capital with strength, and talks about the "good people" in Nazi protests, it is undeniably different. Unless you just accept racism....

My first take on a grainy video was the shooting wasn't necessary. But that was without context.

But with the much better video footage, it's clear she had ample warning and still persisted.

Fully justified shooting with the understanding those police were protecting people behind them in the offices. They had no idea who that woman was or what she had planned. The cops clearly had guns drawn, and that's where they were making their stand (perhaps because they had nowhere else to go, or at least needed to buy time for the officials to get out of there).

Kind of funny seeing some of the gun nutters up in arms over that fully justified shooting. I've made no bones about the fact I think open carry is crazy. Undoing the assault weapon ban decades ago was a huge mistake. What we saw yesterday was a clear example for why I think those lax gun policies are nuts. Most of these people are batshit crazy! However, one of the areas I totally believe in lethal force, is "castle doctrine". If someone is breaking through your window and trying to gain illegal access into your home, that is sufficient justification to shoot from a defensive position. There's basically no questions asked in such a scenario. Well... these officers were in a defensive position, guarding against an invading mob. The woman breeched the line, she was breaking through. She needed to be put down.

The "gun rights" and "back the blue" people can justify a kid getting shot, a teenager getting stalked and ultimately shot by a wannabe cop, a woman shot in her bed, a guy shot in his own garage while holding a cell phone - but they want "vengeance" because some nut job was put down while trying to attack Congress? Get out of here! Think race has anything to do with it now? I'm amazed there weren't more of them killed.

Exactly. If you have a PhD, JD, or MD when you arrive in a new country, it's easier to succeed than if you come with a 6th grade education. And the first Cubans who fled were well educated.

I'm fully expecting more violence and domestic terrorism over the next number of years. After all the talk and rhetoric of the last few years, we all knew this was coming as soon as Trump was out of office. Trump will continue to whip them up too. Trump is their leader.

Conservatives voted for Trump. And they all knew they were voting for white supremacy, indecency, immorality and criminality. Whether that’s what they wanted or not, that’s what they voted for, because they knew that’s what they would get.

Anyone who says differently is lying. Maybe to themselves, as well.
