I hope that the real perpetrators are brought to justice because it is so obvious that the entire scenario and planning was in place much earlier. This was not a sudden reaction. This was a setup to do as Trump and others wanted to do and that was to find a way to end the counting of votes. What is frustrating is to listen to Sen Coker say "we should ask Trump to resign and if he doesn't then lets just get on with our lives" which is completely wrong! There are some folks within that building that put pressure on the Capitol Police leaders to do and react not as they were trained and those leaders resigned to get away from that fire pit as quickly as they could. There are going to be people in high places being highlighted by the FBI and it is only a matter of time. One thing I am so sure that this was not an act of "hey lets go take over Congress" but it was a planned event to disrupt the counting and it was an attempt to take prisoners to make a point.
What we saw the other day was a conspiracy and when I posted after hearing the mob was on the Capitol lawn I think it clear that I was stunned that they were allowed to be there with no intervention.

Going to be an eye opener when the chips begin to fall and for that I feel very confident. This country was not being protected as well as we thought.

We do not need our Presidents tweeting. We need them to stand before reporters or us and answer questions in person. At the very least to speak their intentions live and in person and respond honestly and ethically to reporters questions.

Tweeting is a social media and is not intended to be a communication source for the top person in this country. His minute by minute emotions were not thrilling at all and his addiction to it was/is concerning about his mental state.

Ignoring the fact that this is raised in a thread about sedition, what utter BS. I paid an 18% tax last year b/c of tax benefits (depreciation, investments, charitable deductions) and all my income was LT capital gains. And I am pretty conservative on taxes, staying away from off shore structures and deferred gain schemes. When I earned a salary I paid 36%. Why people making millions/year pay a lower rate than people making $300,000/year should be vigorously questioned. Especially when wealth inequality is at an all time high.

Yes, I vote against my own economic interests, maybe making me as dumb as all the poor white people who voted for Trump and gave wealthy folks yet another huge tax break. At a minimum, the capital gains rate should match the income rate for those making a certain amount (say $250k annually). The system now is a joke. As Warren Buffett said: "Yes, there is a class war going on. And my class is winning." He was not talking about folks making $100k versus those making $20k, he was talking of those making $10M/year versus those making $100k/year.

A well-deserved death I feel comfortable laughing at. I'll add this casualty to the list that Mr. "Did Anyone Die?" asked for.

I never said that we need him tweeting. My major point is about who decides whether he should be able to do so. In my opinion, it should be the voters, rather than some small committee at the Twitter Corp.

I'm being honest when I say the left is the blame but so is the right. My opinion of Obama has not changed nor has it of the unhinged left. When will you and others start being?

How many times did the BLM and antifa thugs destroy cities, killed, looted and raped fellow Americans this past year?

Why would “the voters” have such control over a private enterprise?

Twitter seems to recognize it’s a grey area (which is why there are exceptions for world leaders to stay on even if they violate the rule).

But they have every right to purge bad actors, to purge criminals, frauds, foreign misinformation, bots, etc. NOBODY has a right to use their platform.

The big question is how and why did the greatest nation on earth end up with a leader who can’t even follow the rules of twitter? How did we end up with a President who is a “bad actor” online?

Maybe you can advocate for me to be allowed to Tweet again then. Been since I believe July 2020 when I was suspended. Twitter has every right to decide who they wish to tweet and the format itself is meant to be less of informational and more for instant gratification of thoughts. Don't know if the medium is worthy of voters debate. We did just fine pre Trump the Tweeter in Chief and honestly he didn't offer much positive for the country in the tweets he did provide. Just cheap entertainment is all it was. Just my thoughts nothing more.

Sorry, not a lie. Many Cubans fleeing after Bautista was outed did leave with just the clothes on their back, it's not like they came completely empty handed. Many were professionals in Cuba, including doctors and lawyers, who were allowed to pick up their practices after they arrived here. Many also had small business, low interest loans from Republic Bank owner, and Cuban Luis Botifoll. Yes, many Cubans had to start over from scratch, but when you have an education and have already been upper-middle to upper class, it's an easier road than when you have no money, no education, and no real work experience. The first Cubans who fled more mirror the Asians who have come over educated. It wasn't easy, for sure, but they have it easier than many others.

By the 80s, many of these Cubans, especially those who came over as kids, were looking to spread out, especially as new Cubans, who were poorer and less skilled, were coming over and living in traditional Cubano areas of Miami. Many of the original refugees moved into Broward County, where they became my neighbors. Here's a good read on the basic waves of Cuban immigrants.

And sorry, Trump supporters are gone so far off the reservation, they may be irredeemable. The left never attempted to storm the Capitol Building, despite bewilderment and then anger that Hillary lost. Hillary also did something Trump never really did, which was concede the fact she lost, and tell the people to get behind the President and move on. Trump? Still holding on to the delusional belief that he won!
