I don't remember this kind of passion and support from liberals for Nick Sandmann an innocent kid who was treated way worse than Dominion. In fact, resident Too Hot liberals wanted to "punch that kid in the face". Even liberal Too Hot lawyers stated that these kind of lawsuits are extremely difficult to prove and Sandmann wouldn't receive one penny......and then Nick Sandmann got paid. I guess it's just another example of left wing hypocrisy. I'll admit that liberal hypocrisy is not surprising to anyone who isn't a Democrat it just leaves little room for common ground, not only on this topic but other issues as well. Carry on....by all means we need to feed liberals some more red meat....let's keep those emotions high
One situation was about interpreting a videotape in ways that satisfied the narrative of whomever was discussing it. The other was about inventing out of whole cloth a reason that Trump lost the election. They are not congruous in the least.
There is relatively little analogous between the Sandmann case and the Dominion lawsuit other than that both were based on alleged defamation. I do think it's rather ironic that Lin Wood one Sandmann's attorneys is among the other potential defendants in the Dominion lawsuit. While not defending CNN the network's misrepresentation was attributable to negligence and there were never any allegations Sandmann suffered any actual damages such as denial or termination of employment or rejection of college applications. In the case of the false allegations against Dominion, the false claims were intentional and most significantly if the claims by Fox News, the other right-wing media outlets, Trump and his representatives Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell are actually believed they could seriously jeopardize the core business of Dominion Voting Systems possibly even destroying the company. If allegations that the company's machines were prone to tampering to the point where they changed the outcome of a presidential election are actually considered credible, the states and counties that are potential customers of Dominion would be very reluctant to purchase its machines. Using an analogy do you think GM would have a valid case against multiple media outlets that made the false and unsubstantiated claim that GM vehicles were prone to spontaneous explosions?
Hopefully they start adding representative and senators to the list soon Dominion's CEO says the voting technology company is going to sue Sidney Powell for defamation and is considering a lawsuit against Trump (msn.com) Dominion CEO John Poulos told Axios it is preparing an "imminent" defamation lawsuit against Sidney Powell for her false election conspiracy theories about the voting technology company. Poulos also said he is considering whether to sue President Donald Trump for pushing some of the same false theories. Dominion has sent document retention letters to a range of right-wing media organizations and figures for propagating elements of the theories and warned of lawsuits against them.
Good for Dominion. It's one thing to be concerned about the security and potential for manipulation, another to make up a bunch of Krakenly malicious lies from whole cloth.
So if a judge won't hear the case, as in most all of Trumps cases that judges wouldn't hear, does that mean there was no defamation?
The opposite of course. That means it is way more likely to have occurred: def·a·ma·tion /ˌdefəˈmāSH(ə)n/ Learn to pronounce noun the action of damaging the good reputation of someone; slander or libel.
It bolsters Dominion's case. Truth is an absolute defense in defamation cases. In those cases in which a court did address the substantive allegations against Dominion (if I recall most of the losses were based on legal technicalities such as lack of standing) it found that the allegations were baseless.
Some of the folks on this board are so comical. You all rant and rave about Trump and his lawyers not being able to get any of their cases into court and say obviously he has no evidence or anything for the court to see. If you don't see the absurdity I was pointing out, then yes I probably am a genius to you!!
They have been able to get them “into court”, hence the 60 filed lawsuits. The cases got tossed out of court because nothing credible was presented to merit anything but a dismissal. In several cases the plaintiff claims were so ridiculous, judges eviscerated Trumps legal team (and not just liberal judges either, Trump appointed conservative judges).
Dominion files $1.3B lawsuit against Sidney Powell. Uh. Oh. You know it’s serious when the spell “District Court” correctly.
The president and his allies the RNC and state Republican committees had no trouble at all getting every one of their cases into court. They just couldn’t keep the cases in court because there was nothing to back them up. You might want to open up to the possibility that this was all just a very successful Trump fundraising con.
Yep. This is part of the disinformation mission. Trumpeteers have been told they had no access to court. Yet, they’ve had access to over 60 courtrooms, many of them presided over byTrump-appointed judges, and none of the cases survived. There was and is no competent evidence to support the cries of foul play. In truth, Trump has had unprecedented access to the courts. He just lost all the cases.
Dominion is reportedly suing trump next. And they will win too, he made all kinds of unsubstantiated claims against them.
