    Yes....

...and a warning shot away from her or anyone, or even a 'shot across the bow' a mere foot in front of her, would surely have prompted a swift retreat...perhaps even a verbal directive.

Shooting her outright--again, IMHO--is straight up CBM.

Maybe that's just me. And as I said before though, that's my take regardless of who she is, or who the shooter is or was.

Her killing looked completely unnecessary to me

If you were to charge the White House and start breaking windows and tearing doors down or the Supreme Court while in session, what would you expect the outcome to be?

If you don't want to be shot, then don't invade the halls of congress while it is in session with the VP in the building.

You can't envision a state or security force that isn't armed to the teeth and ready to shoot to kill?

This always seems to be the answer doesn't. Obey or be killed.

In the settings that I mentioned, I would expect that to be the case.

I guess this will be a standard defense for the riot and breakin:

I suppose we can only imagine settings that involve armed security trained to kill, and a potentially armed populace the security forces are trained to believe want to kill or harm them.

The FOIS requests on the preparation and communication for this event should prove enlightening. In general, you never shoot at mobs unless you are in asset protection mode or protecting other life. That is why the one guy was back pedaling. The same with the three guys at the fence, they don’t stop 30+ pushing through absent a lot of chemical agents.

Everything you see on this is zero management prep. Resources not positioned, no plan or communication. Maybe the planned to allow them in originally like other State Houses did and got overrun? With the kidnap attempt plots etc, I would imagine the metric changed. Given POTUS and others rhetoric this should have been seen as a possibility.

My argument is not about whether it is right or wrong but if someone told me they were going to force their way into a major federal government building while the highest ranking members were present and in session, I would tell them that being shot would be a likely outcome.

I am saddened by the loss of any human life, and there is nothing more serious than the taking of a citizen's life by the state or a representative of the state. The loss of her life was a tragedy. However, those officers were charged with protecting the center of power in the United States government, which at that moment was literally under attack. I am not sure what the other option was.

No, not when the state owns and controls the means of production and distribution of the fruits thereof (i.e.--communism).

    It's an absolute impossibility.

If it was remotely within the realm of possibility, it would long ago have been done.

Yet, despite countless aspiring, hopeful, dandy lion rainbow pony dreamers of like mind as you, believing such a state could exist...they have without fail, devolved and had to resort to iron fisted tyranny, because lo n bohold....folks disagree with the controlling authority's assessment of who deserves how much of what....

For shits and giggles...do provide us with a brief summary of your John Lennon inspired Happylandia....

(I'm pretty sure I won't even have to touch it--we'll just let it scream for itself...).

Agreed. While it wouldn't make me happy, if they had mowed them all down with a .50 cal I don't think it would have been unjustified. They were literally storming a major federal building. I would say the same whether it was Antifa, BLM, Trump supporters, whoever.

As the saying goes, play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

That makes sense in the abstract, but in this case literally hundreds of people did the same thing and didn't get shot. Some took selfies with cops, its quite a juxtaposition given the guy in the bear suit was standing at the podium taking pictures in the government building while someone else got blasted.

Totally agree. I’d add that if it was BLM doing if they absolutely would have been mowed down.

She was shot in front of the door to the chamber in which congress was still in session. That cop was the last thing between that woman and the house members. This was just before 3pm ET. The dickheads taking selfie’s were doing so after all the legislators had been evacuated.

Why do you suppose in the most capitalist country on earth, and where private ownership of property (including arms) is sacrosanct we imprison the most people on the planet, and have one of the most deadly police forces in the world, and also the largest military with bases around the world (and engage in lucrative arms trading as a diplomatic carrot)? 'Communism' certainly has never surpassed that sort of feat, even if it tried (and it did try some of those things).

I don't offer it as a 'defense', but that was my original suspicion.

This is Antifa MO, and uncharacterisitic of MAGA.

MAGA's have been gathering in enormous crowds for years without incident, even gathering in DC several times going back to their predecessor (TEA Party), not only without incident, but remarkably clean and peaceful.

(I have other hypotheseii, but I'll have to keep those my intimate circles, lest I should risk drawing unwelcomed attention...).
