Well I guess we can put the rest the narrative that conservatives don’t protest on weekdays because they’re busy at work.

Should be noted that today's events demonstrated a staggering failure of the capitol police and other security. There is no way a single one of these folks should have been able to enter the capitol building(!!!) or even get across the first barricade, much less into the Senate chamber and to Pelosi's office. Some leadership heads need to roll.

and a violation of a house we all own, and likely much tighter restitutions in the future for any of us who want to go there, and international embarrassment, and the cost of clean up as they looted the place, and the risk that confidential documentation as found and taken, and a dead woman and several injured officers, and further degradation of our prized institutions, and an attack on a consitutional process that we all (used to) hold sacred...

    but yeah, no biggie.

I really wonder who these people are who did that today. Are they decent, law-abiding folks who just deep in their hearts feel like the election was stolen and they had to do something? Or are they all child molesting racist meth heads who were happy to find something national support?

The total effect of this thing was much more profound than that.

At least some were well-known white supremacists.

You forgot 3 pipe bombs, guy walking around in a "Camp Auschwitz" shirt, breaking into and vandalizing our capital, and people parading a treasonous flag in our capital. But because it was people supporting Trump, it is no biggie, or at worst they are the equivalent of looters taking advantage of protests for racial justice.

Applauding the speeches from Pence and even McConnell right now right down to the language is he is using. Wish these folks would have stood up sooner, but maybe this day has snapped them back to reality and out of Trump-world.

They could be just child molesting racist meth heads who feel a kindred spirit with Trump and therefore felt the election was stolen

The question is, now what? Are they going to actual do anything about it, or just wax poetic? My guess is they do nothing.

Just a reminder that the Capitol police are not district law enforcement. They are federal law enforcement. And the person ultimately responsible for them is the same person that incited the insurrection.

Also called this action a "failed insurrection".

That might have been the best 5 minute speech that he has ever delivered.

Mad Dog blames Trump ... makes great points.

President Trump’s first Secretary of Defense James Mattis called the riots in Washington, DC, today a “violent assault on our Capitol, an effort to subjugate American democracy by mob rule” and said it “was fomented by Mr. Trump.”

Mattis said Trump has used “the Presidency to destroy trust in our election and to poison our respect for fellow citizens has been enabled by pseudo-political leaders whose names will live in infamy as profiles in cowardice.”
