Maybe he really isnt homesick...maybe he is just tired of watching his team get their asses lit up....Arik would be crazy to want to be a tight end for anyone other than Dan Mullen.

On Gilbert, if GA coaches are "in his ear"... wouldn't that be tampering? And he'd be an absolute idiot to go there. TE's confuse Smart more than the wheel route.

In fairness we have only had a QB for 2 games. TEs have gotten balls this year, just not a lot to DW.

That said, Gilbert isn’t really a prototypical TE and most teams wouldn’t feature him that way (at least not exclusively).

We look forward to Gilbert going fsharing the 2 receptions output that Darnell Washington had last year, and Ojulari underperforming the preseason hype like the elder Ojulari.
That QB has gotten a total of 4 passes to TE in two games. I'm sure the TE are overjoyed with this development.

Im not gonna sit on this website and lie, i think Arik gonna ball at UGA since he isn't a traditional inline TE.

I'm not saying it's the end of the world for Darnell but the kid is stiff in the hips by the looks of it. He just looks too big

I think he can make an impact in any offense, but I don't see him taking too many snaps from Perkins and Kearis. He would take McKitty's production. But he doesn't solve the basic oroblem that they are going from one QB who isn't tall enough to exploit the middle of the field to another who isn't reliable at intermediate routes. The QB skills limit the options that would make Gilbert a great addition to the offense instead of just another taller wide receiver.

Losing Pittman has just begun to hurt UGA. They have no identity anymore. Run or throw, they don't know.

I highly doubt that BJ Ojulari would come here (assuming he leaves LSU). For reasons I still don't understand we didn't recruit him much out of high school, so I don't know if there is enough of an established relationship for him to just think we'd be a good option. But I don't understand the knock against Azeez for underperforming. He's tied for the conference lead in sacks.

I think circumstance has effected a lot of that. We started Mathis at the beginning of the year (and went back to him a couple of times) and the guy is just not a good QB at this point. He led the conference in uncatchable balls (just under 50% of his passes). Other times it was Bennett, who was told in early August that he had no real future in the program and then health and opt-outs changed that quick. He slid on a scale in his time as the starter from serviceable to terrible, mostly due to his physical limitations. He had ok games against Auburn and Tennessee, a Jekyll and Hyde 1st half to 2nd half change against Alabama, an awful game against Kentucky and then got hurt against you guys early on.

Daniels has 2 games under his belt, is still obviously shaking off rust still and has faced two entirely different defensive schemes. MSU ran a 3-3-5 and had 8-9 man boxes all game, so we threw it 38 times for 400+. SC kept fewer guys in the box and bracketed more in coverage, so we threw it 16 times and ran for 332. Jury is still out on what the offense will be from week to week, but it is infinitely more dynamic now than it was 3 games ago.
