    Friday morning update from world o meter as of 8 am EST. I failed to save the file when I updated it on Monday so the data numbers are not very good.
    • Obviously total cases, active cases and deaths are way up.
    • There were 10 states, including Oklahoma btw, that had a decrease in active cases since last Friday;
    • There were 5 states with less than 14 deaths but 0 states with 0 deaths;
    • The death rate per reported case dropped to 1.942%.
    • Over 14 million cases have been reported which is over 4.25% of the US population.
    • The states with the best recovery rate is North Dakota and Tennessee at 92.06%;
    • The state with the worst recovery rate is Maryland at 4.22% but they just don't report on active cases so their recovery rate stays low.

    A dire hypothesis on the decreasing hospitalization rates made by this dude. Seems the 10 day shifted correlation between cases and hospitalizations has been consistent for much of the pandemic (in USA). Now case/hospitalizations has decreased from 3.2% to 2.1%. That drop may be due to marginal hospitalizations going down. In other words, folks that would have been admitted last month are now being turned away. A strong indication that hospitals are teetering.

    The drop could also be due to the unlikely scenario that more younger people are being detected. A demographic breakdown of positives over time could explore this possibility.

    only test results were from ferrets.

    no results posted human trials but should be easy to test as only people recently infected would receive drug and be tested shortly thereafter.

    how do you do a double blind on this if you suspect it prevents transmission that effectivley?

    hope it works

    Are you suggesting coastal states, notably liberal states are not having problems with Covid-19? CA reported 21,825 new cases yesterday. Illinois 10,959. New York 10,000+, New Jersey almost 5k and countless others. Just want to make sure I understood your post.

    Weird logic.

    The current hotspots are in the middle of the country.

    Also, given the politicalization of mitigation practices, it might do the most good here. If you can't convince someone to use a condom, the morning after pill might be needed.

    To far north
    im confused, can you point me to where Trump did anything about encouraging mask wearing? And where Trump required them in places he has jurisdiction over?

    that’s what Biden’s initial plan is.

    Not leaving it up to governors to decide on a state by state basis and not shunning mask wearing at events two things Trump has done and two huge differences from Biden right off the bat without even digging that deep.

    hardly the same policy. Not even close.

    Ooooh... I get it, the hundreds of thousands of people with Covid in the coastal, liberal elite areas don't need the treatment as much because their counties are not as sparsely populated. It all makes sense now!! Thank you!!!

    Well, ferrets deserve to get good COVID treatment too, especially since they don’t social distance and will not wear masks.

    Ferrets yes, but no minks. Minks are creepy and turn into diseased furry little zombies.
