drop in positive test rate and drop in death rate show we at least know how to treat covid and people are taking more precautions

It seems around the country authorities aren't either mass fining or arresting people for simply not wearing a mask. But it baffles me that so many people who think of themselves as rational or having "common sense" law abiding citizens suddenly become extremely selfish in their defiance of mitigation measures, as if their freedom to simply do as they please doesn't end where it can harm others.

Don't normally post things like this, but it's fitting right now.

A drop in the positive test rate might be a function of more asymptomatic testing. The drop in the death rate is very positive.

You must have missed all the posts upthread about how kids do not get the virus and it does not spread in schools or from kid to kid.

This is getting surreal. The diabolical way trump is leading our country during this pandemic.

Overshadowed by the election of course, but we had 94k new cases yesterday. The previous 4 Tuesdays we had 76k, 63k, 52k and 45k new cases. We are most certainly not 'rounding the corner' as our current president claims. It's gonna be a bad few months.

Yet another reason for everyone to get their damned flu shots. You don't want to end up with secondary pneumonia from the flu and then get COVID.

Hopefully we see a drop in cases now that trump has stopped his super-spreader events
