People seem to be missing that the Covid-19 in its current state is much more contagious than the original form of the China virus that came out of Wuhan. It would take more than what the Chinese government imposed on those poor people in order to stamp this out here.
Wel, it took til now, but the first person I know to catch it was today. His daughter brought it back from UF and infected him. He seems Ok so far as expected. He doesn’t have any risk factors and is in good shape.
Sturgis rally - super spreader. Hopefully trump isn’t doing this with his events. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wa...20/10/17/sturgis-rally-spread/?outputType=amp
Just more examples of people acting recklessly and then coming to realize their errors. Like the guy who ended up in the hospital. He didn’t live in fear until he was sick and afraid. And had spread the disease himself.
China beat the virus and will spend much less doing it that the US or the EU China is back to normal — the US and Europe are not. Here's how it succeeded. China has put the coronavirus pandemic behind it, and life has returned to largely to normal. During its Golden Week holiday, from October 1 and October 7, China saw 637 million people travel across the country without any surges in cases. Meanwhile, the US and many European countries are still struggling to quash their outbreaks and experiencing new surges as the winter approaches. Experts say China's fast and comprehensive testing approach, lockdowns that ran their full course, and simple, clear messaging helped it solve the problem. Meanwhile, the US and Europe struggled to control their outbreaks due to mixed messaging, incomplete lockdowns, weak contact tracing, and a lack of experience with epidemics. This week, the US, France, UK, Poland, and Belgium logged record numbers of new daily cases. ................................................................................................................................... Some 637 million people — or 46% of the entire country's population — traveled around China that week, spending between them $69 billion on holidays, shopping trips, weddings, and visits to relatives, state media said. Meanwhile, the US and a number of European nations are struggling to quash their outbreaks and reignite their economies following widespread job losses and recessions.
Instead our hospitality and travel industries are preparing to lay off thousands more. Our economy cannot recover until the virus is at controllable levels. 60,000+ new cases a day is far from controlled.
What exactly is China falsifying in this instance? They shut down completely to control the virus but now they’re going to lie about numbers of cases and open everything back up while is actually running rampant?
Here's the thing, while there are countless good reasons to be skeptical of anything official coming out of Bejing, if the situation was vastly different than advertised, we'd know about it. Just too many eyes on China. They can inhibit, but can't control all information flows.
Drinks last night with a couple of neighbors to celebrate his birthday. Both had covid last month, he got sick but not horrible. She went to urgent care once and the ER two days later. She actually said last night that this virus will magically disappear on 04 Nov. I really just don’t understand some people.
The Monday morning update from world o meter as of 8:15 am EDT. There were 5 states with a decrease in active cases since Friday, and Florida had the biggest drop in active cases. Over 7 million tests were done in the US last week and the positive case percentage dropped another .25% down to 6.59% overall. Over 37% of the population has been tested but this percent is losing relevance as many people are getting multiple tests. There were 9 states with 1-6 deaths over the weekend and 2 states with 0 deaths.
