...as for last night. Just could not get the bats going...but we hit last tonight. A walk off against Chapman would be epic.

The Lightning had to overcome the ghosts of CBJ from last year to win the cup.
Maybe tonight the Rays can overcome the ghost of Cole from last year to advance to the ALCS and then face the other ghost from last year. The Trashstros.

The Rays looked flat right out of the gates last night. Something about baseball, you get a feel in the first one or two innings how things will go. Tonight will be an all-out Game 5 of 5 effort by both teams. Expecting anything and everything.

Yeah. They left too many guys on base early, and that was their doom. Get a few of those guys across and it changes a lot.

...and did Brandon Lowe get left at TPA? Can we get him on a charter? Anyone seen him?

As good as he's been through the season, I wonder if he should be starting at this point. He's got the yips.

Yea, I only read the last page, but I get it, except nbn has virtually no traffic these days either, maybe even less than the baseball forum on many days.
So if the Bucs get hot, will u add to the Tampa thread? Don't expect that, just curious.

If the Rays can't pull this off there will be no teams worth cheering for left.

Rays found a way. 2 HRs for their 2 runs, but they all count. Happy for them.

cool seeing Lauren Shehadi in the Post game, she a UF grad.

Magnificently tense game! Geez, playoff baseball can be excruciating!
So, so, so proud of this Rays TEAM! T-E-A-M! Such a close-knit group of guys that have played tremendous baseball all season long. They absolutely deserve to be where they are today. Now, it's time to knock out everybody's least favorite team in the ALCS.

    5 wins down, 8 to go!! ⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

    GO RAYS!!!

Beating that wife beating head hunter with a revenge kill shot is so sweet as a fan...imagine how Mikey feels tonight!

That was a classic matchup with Brosseau and Chapman. If the board doesn’t remember, Chapman threw a 98-100 mph fastball over his head earlier in the season where both benches and bullpens cleared. Brosseau was down 0-2 in the count. Battled back with good takes and a few foul balls to get the count full Before the shot that sealed the deal. Classic revenge (Some May say Karma) that will be legendary for years to come.

The constant piped in fake crowd noise is distracting, imho.

He extended the AB to 10 pitches and hit a bomb foul before hitting the GW homer.

Interesting how the unfamiliarity with the field may have come into play on the first Rays home run. I wonder how many times a visiting outfielder has conked his head on that shelf?

Definitely one for the comedy reels. Put it right up there with the homerun off Canseco's head.

Unbelievable stat from that game. The last player to hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning or later during the postseason against the Yankees was Bill Mazeroski in 1960. Goose Gossage and Mariano Rivera account for about 80% of the reason.
