OGT #5 Florida Gators @ Ole Miss 9/26/2020 Noon

This is bigger than first game jitters. Ole Miss barely had time to put an offense together and they’re slicing through us like a high school team.

 

We are missing a few key players on Defense?

 

Post count never matters. Like saying a freshman shouldn’t play.

 

It's still morning out here in the west but I might have to start drinking early.

 

Are we down other defense starters other than the safety that was ejected?

 

If it wasn't part of a long-standing pattern, I'd be hoping along with you...

 

I wanted Grantham gone after last season... I'm looking justified right now

 

Hoping we knock some rust off..

 

Who? We’ve got plenty of talent.

 

You may be right but note three things. Lane Kiffin is an ass but he can coach an offense. Next, Ole miss is very quick at the skill positions. Finally, playing a gimmick offense the first game of the season is an issue. Let's see how we respond in the second half.

 

Every off season I get sad that Grantham doesn’t take advantage of a HC opportunity. He deserves one.

 

The excuse for previous years was Grantham didn’t have the players. Year 3, and nothing seems different.

 

Good news guys we are only giving up 87% on 3rd down.

 

233 yards given up already

 

Not worried...yet. Their best players are making plays and they do have a few good ones.

 

Our linebackers and safetys are not very good.

 

Just saw the replay on that last touchdown. Elam’s effort was nonexistent.

 

OM’s success in the run game is killing us in passing downs. Defense is freezing on the play fake.

 

Pretty clear the 2 weakest links on D are Miller at LB and Stiner at S. Both those cats have ZERO instincts. Miller has been awful his whole career. I can't imaging Hopper, Wingo, Pierre, anybody can't be more instinctive and assignment-sound, regardless of experience. Grantham's 3rd down D picking up where it left off.

 

I hope someone on our defense steps up

It isn’t just you noticing, I think Grantham has mailed it in, he hasn’t called the right defense on 3rd down yet
