You are not lame. Blocking people as an act does strike me as lame though. As for "chaos", I mean again, that seems hyperbolic to me. I mean it's a message board thread on Too Hot. This is relatively tame in comparison to some.
Sure , criticize away. But when put on the spot and asked to answer a question they face multiple times a day, your response was “a duh, I dunno, I’m not smart enough or capable of making that decision.” Pretty weak cop out for someone with so much criticism for those who are trained.
So you think calling me "blinded by ignorance" and excluding me from the group of grown ups capable of using reason is just a disagreement and not a series of personal insults? Can you please explain how those are not personal insults? And before you say that I have personally insulted him, if you are going to say that, please provide a specific post number and instance where I have done anything other than discuss an issue or point out the personal insults from him today.
All I ever said was he is not trolling. I don't consider the "blinded" line as an insult, but the other is borderline and that is why we have the report feature. We tend to let the hockey fights happen within reason, but if you feel it crosses the insult line then by all means report it.
Also I might add that if you don't like attacks on your intelligence perhaps posts like these should be avoided:
Those were responses to his series of personal insults yesterday. That is how trolling works. I took the bait yesterday. I will admit that. But if you respond to his posts with an actual substantive issue that he can't answer, he responds by personally insulting whoever questioned him. I specifically didn't take the bait and purely discussed issues at a substantive level today to show you the issue. And yet, still the personal insults persist. That is why people are ignoring him. Because rather than take an alternative viewpoint and discuss it with people, he takes an alternative viewpoint and then personally insults everybody who disagrees.
I don’t start anything. Usually always in response. But man, got some thin skin around here for sure.
Well, with all the complaints about the thread, maybe we should change the title to CORONAVIRUS: Hotter than a Russian Venusian!
Then according to your operationalization, Trump is not a failure. Before you attempt to rationalize, let's walk this down. You claimed earlier that Trump failed to adequately handle the virus. Later, you validated your critique of Trump, claiming that you referred to him as a failure. Here you've claimed a certain act is lame, but when called on it, you rationalize/take the edge off/assuage the critique claiming the poster is not lame. There's a distinct inconsistency here. Fail to perform task = person is a failure Lame act on Too Hot =/= person is lame
from covid19 testing so far this month average tests 770,444 daily. new cases 40,435 daily. positive 5%, average daily deaths 776.all these are slightly lower than worldometer, which has the overall positive test s at about 7.1%, coming down each month from about 18% 3 months ago.
C'mon Davis I think Trump has failed as a POTUS. I think Trump has failed at installing concern for your fellow man during a pandemic. I think Trump failed to replace the ACA. I think Trump failed at properly solving an immigration problem. I think Trump is a failure at the job I voted for him to do. I think Trump has failed at being a husband. I think Trump has failed at being a good decent person. I think Trump is a failure. Someone did something lame on a message board. I know nothing about that person outside of that. That person is not lame.
Personally, I've always felt like this thread was much like a public service type endeavor, rather than just entertainment. I hadn't ever considered blocking anyone before, but it's the best way to navigate through the BS and get the truth and facts. It's an idiot-filter at a time when idiocy has real-world consequences, and not just for the idiots. For a lot of us, this is serious; serious enough that drive-by posts from resident trolls, touting and promoting words of wisdom from the latest obscure Dr. Nick, is neither appreciated nor worthy of response. They are part of the problem, not part of the solution.
I get that for hoaxers and never maskers or even those claiming Trump has done well, but I don't get it for someone questioning numbers and calling Trump out at the same time. That is what has happened here in this thread the last several pages. Someone willing to question numbers while still being honest enough to admit there is a problem that is directly the fault of the POTUS. We all take this serious sans a couple who rarely post anymore. We may not agree on the numbers but we all know this is real and most of us admit that Trump failed. Should we all improve our tone around here? Yes. No question. But should we discount conflicting opinions as "not caring" or "BS"? No. As for "facts", those have changed a great deal and we still only know some of them. for many this is a place to vent, hash out thought and learn. i know I have learned a lot from many here. But c'mon guys, blocking people who are in the middle on this thing just seems odd.
Point of perspective on this issue: what is the view of this forum on the Den? It’s a wasteland of insults and attacks. Seems like if you really want to call out posters for weak sauce, you should be visiting The Den and getting on them - not the posters willing to hang out with the 50 of us (not sure where I am getting that number) minus 1.
LOL. No argument, but I don't really moderate the Den, and pay walls offer a bit more freedom. The Den is the second toughest board to moderate. Maybe the toughest.
No, what has happened here is there are a whole bunch of folks posting the latest developments to inform everyone; and then there's a group posting nonsense in an effort to refute those findings because they hurt the reelection chances of their candidate... one group has noble intent, the other, not so much.
