I read a similar article a few weeks ago.... similar to the H1N1 "pandemic"

 

Thats a good read and seems plausible. Too bad the board naysayers wont even read it and go into full attack mode against their fellow Americans.
I guess we should tell them that this theory could be true and in no way undermines the recommendations for masks and distancing.

 

Who's arguing masks don't work? I'm saying masks won't keep a raging virus from infecting a population unless there is an underlying immunity.

 

People who think masks stop everything are dumber than the anti-maskers.

 

They don't read a thing. Basically it's this: Trump bad, masks good. Stay shut down and the US is terrible. Thing that covers everything.

Masks helped in Mexico, as well as the Navajo Nation. These people aren't Asian, and certainly have not shown any form of immunity to the virus.

Early mask adapters, which are generally Asian countries, have done better. Later mask areas have seen a significant reduction in the spread of the disease. Your conclusion is it must be some underlying immunity? Doesn't make sense.

Masks don't stop everything. But evidence shows it slows the spread of COVID-19.

Thanks. Nice place but a lot of staff out with positive tests or exposed to known infected people. Place is locked up but can't keep employees out

Sure, but they won't stop Covid from getting to a country like some are saying. Some people have an immunity from Covid. Probably won't know for a few years after they do studies. Not sure i've ever said masks and social distancing don't work. But kids should be back at school doing in person learning. Crazy that it isn't happening yet. We can't be remote learning until there's a vaccine. That is nuts.

I can go on and on but I think you get the picture.

 

We took a train from Bergen to Oslo and hopped a short flight to Dublin. Had a car rental set up using points and supposedly had insurance covered with amex platinum. Found out that Ireland is an insurance trap and unless you have written authorization from credit card company they would nto mark you as covered. Insurance for 5 days ended up costing more than the car rental did. Big scam in Ireland, worse than Costa Rica. Got car and headed to hotel on edge of Dublin, left side of road, stick shift. Made life interesting. Toll road around Dublin had to be paid within 24 hours of sue and it was up to you to recall how many tolls you owed. Underpay or pay late and fees went up. No fun. Did two walking tours the next day in Dublin, same guide, was very good, different sites. Really liked Dublin and the people there. Entire city was limited to max 3 story buildings (none taller than Liberty Hall) until recently so rent prices were really high. There were several sky cranes set up as higher buildings were being constructed to help alleviate housing shortages. Didn't realize that it was only 100 years ago that British warships sailed up the river there and opened fire on Irish independence movement. I think of Ireland as an old country but they just recently celebrated their 100 year anniversary. Visited the Temple Bar, Irish Rock & Roll Hall of fame, churches, and Trinity College. Some really cool stuff at libraries at Trinity College






St. Patricks Cathedral below. fun fact. St. Patrick's day celebration occurs in more countries than any other national festival. It has been celebrated in the US since 1601. Originally a feast and religious holiday, it was in the US that it became a party. First ever St. Paddys day parade was held in Boston in 1737.

Not a single person anywhere has ever said they will stop it outright. Where do you get this crap from. You just enjoy arguing?

 

There are people on this board who say because it’s not in some countries that they are awesome and the US sucks. Go back and look. It’s not because of masks or social distancing. It’s because they are somehow immune for the most part. If people just used common sense a lot of issues could be solved. That goes for both sides.
