Amazing venue and appears quite unique from the photos. I bet the shape and config impact the acoustics in interesting ways.
Here are this morning's updated stats from world o meter as of 8 am EDT. There were 15 states with a decrease in active cases and Florida was one of them. There were 10 states with just 1-2 deaths but there were 13 states with 0 deaths.
My concern for the virus is there, but not to the point yours is. This is where people like myself and others can lose perspective in how it affects other people’s lives. I haven’t been personally affected by Covid. It’s not something I’ve seen. stories like yours and others that I see in the news reminds me everyday to be considerate towards others. Even though I don’t like wearing the mask, I do it for my family, friends, and neighbors. However, when I look around and remember back when my local jurisdiction and state (Florida) mandated Covid preventions, I saw person after person ignoring them. For that reason, I don’t think a lock down would work in this country. I hope you and your dad remain safe through this time.
Not sure if this has been posted. UF has a covid dashboard. Looks like 28 faculty/staff have tested positive and 245 students. Testing Dashboard: Screen, Test & Protect » Testing Dashboard » COVID-19 Updates » UF Health » University of Florida
America's death gap, from today's NYT coverage. Here’s a jarring thought experiment: If the United States had done merely an average job of fighting the coronavirus — if the U.S. accounted for the same share of virus deaths as it did global population — how many fewer Americans would have died? The answer: about 145,000. That’s a large majority of the country’s 183,000 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths. Further, that is just counting confirmed deaths. America's excess death count (over normal years) is about 220,000... or almost 40 thousand more than confirmed to be COVID related deaths. The True Coronavirus Toll in the U.S. Has Already Surpassed 200,000.
Woohoo!! Another country is not banning us entirely (just the idiot states that don't "believe" in science) Costa Rica lifting restrictions on travelers from 11 US states, DC Costa Rica is opening its borders to U.S. travelers from select states who test negative for COVID-19, partially lifting a ban imposed since March. The Central American country will open its borders Tuesday to travelers with valid IDs from Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia and Washington, D.C. On Sept. 15, travel will be open to residents of Colorado, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Yes, but . . . . It's just a flu. Young people are immune. Asymptomatic carriers do not spread the virus. The economy is worth more than a couple hundred thousand lives. The CDC has given conflicting info and all scientific info is therefore invalid. People wearing masks are more dangerous than those who don't. Mask wearers obviously caused excess fatalities. Masks are a tool being used for political purposes. If we had punched through this and not shut down, we'd be better off. It's Cuomo's fault. People have a better chance of dying from a lightning strike. It will magically disappear after the election. If you're scared, stay in your safe space in the basement. The rest of us have things to do. What did I miss?
Should be amazing that somebody disagrees with facts. But the Trump administration and its supporters have actively disdained facts ever since he started running for office. So much so that his spokesperson Kellyanne coined the term “alternative facts” to describe the nonstop onslaught of lies from Trump. And his supporters slurp up those alternative facts like Trump slurps up buckets of KFC.
