It’s “unsafe” because students are dumbasses going to parties. This was always going to be the risk to football players, who being college aged themselves, will also be tempted to do dumb ass things so long as dumb ass things are going on and look like fun. Just takes 1 to screw everything up. I don’t think moving to all online and having athletes still practice and play is inherently a title ix violation, or at least if it is I am perfectly willing to temporarily suspend title ix, because of the public health crisis. Is there some hypocrisy there? Sure, but I’d rather see sports played than not played - and I believe a bubble type situation makes it doable. Having campuses live like normal is obviously not wise, and plenty of evidence showing kids are going to stupid. So that to me is the thing putting sports in jeopardy. Big 10 and PAC 10 I guess saw the title ix stuff as inevitable and didn’t want to deal with it.
This $5 rapid test is a potential game-changer in Covid testing New York(CNN Business)Abbott Labs got emergency approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for its rapid antigen test, which can detect a Covid-19 infection in 15 minutes. The test is a "game changer," according to Brett Giroir, the US assistant secretary for health in the Department of Health and Human Services. Huge news. Lets hope this can get mass produced ASAP. Got to think they will need a billion tests to start. Get moving!
Seriously. I don't get my panties in a bunch every time someone disagrees or come on man my posts. The thing I love about this group of ours is we don't cancel each other out because we don't agree with each other AND in most cases we explain why we don't agree.
This is huge. It would save my company all sorts of headaches as we try to balance keeping people safe with turning a profit.
A widely available, 15 minute test? You could conceivably look at fans in seats again. Everyone would have to be tested. The logistics would be crazy, but time and planning could make it work.
so far this month, from covid 19 testing. daily average of 713,635 tests. daily new cases 48,211. overall % is 6.7%
East Carolina (an hour plus east of NCSU and UNC) also closed today. A family member started there last week and said there were numerous off-campus parties. Basically the message among the students was "Finally we're free! Let's party!", according to him. So now he has to turn around and leave his dorm. No word on refunds.

must be trump's fault they are not social distancing, typical left wing liberals, they don't need no social distancing.
We first lead by example. How close were the people in the Rose Garden last night, and how many were wearing masks? It's not all Trump's fault. But he's certainly not helping.
not sure why this is relevant to anything since the CDC said we dont really need testing...oh wait, they just changed their mind again.
