The thing with schools is that if there is an outbreak, schools can be shut down on a dime and teachers will still get paid. Schools are probably about the easiest thing to shut down quickly.
would be a bit late for the teachers who already got it. But even accepting your premise, a senator talking like that is embarrassing.
The senator was speaking to those people using children as political pawns, not to those people with reasonable concerns about reopening. And IMO he’s justified in some salty language when speaking on the subject.
I am not sure, we just have netflix in our house. I see most of their ads when they get reported on The Hill.
More Darwin Award nominees. Alabama pastor says over 40 infected with coronavirus after revival: ‘The whole church has got it'
Seward Harbor. 12 foot tides are not uncommon. all the docks and walkways float and the walkways can get quite steep on low tide. Makes pushing a cart full of fish up to the dock a real physical challenge when the cart is full of big halibut. Seward is one of my favorite small towns anywhere. Seward was practically wiped out by a 30' wave from a tsunami in 1964 generated by a 9.2 earthquake
Because we opened too early and incorrectly. And without contact tracing. Most of the rest of the developed World got it right. Some of us were mocked repeatedly here for saying this would happen, but it was inevitable. And, while I is now right wing dogma to blame outside demonstrations, we have yet to see empirical dats supporting those claims. Just more right wing dogma. Sure would be better if these demonstrations weren’t happening. But the science is posting toward indoor lack of social distancing and failure to wear masks.
They will have to respond, but from lower numbers. We always knew that there would be openings and closings and openings and closings again, until there is a virus. Resurgences are inevitable. It is now they are handled. And exponential growth is not the way to go.
I get what he's saying, but I still disagree...in large part. Of course we don't want to get rid of data if we don't have to, but we often have to so that statistical technique produces valid results. Outliers muck it up. In any case, it just depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
